The straight line performance improvements are pretty good, 0-300 kph improvement will be even better and of course the 991 Turbo will do much better on the track than the 997 Turbo.

918 will be far better - in LF and P1 class. But turbo must be faster than 458 and mp4-12c

997 turbo s was quicker than the GTR (in straight line at least).

It's Japan against Germany and Japan obviously loses and then it's the epic battle of Britain against Germany and obviously Britain wins (gloriously!) Smiley

Must be an effect of watching too many James Bond movies... (and the thinly weiled frustration of losing their automotive industry down to the last bit...)

considering the 991 GT3 is as fast as the outgoing 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 and priced at the 997.2 GT3 RS level, I think/hope that the turbo will somehow also be even faster by a considerable margin. Certainly this model will be the first to see weight being the biggest gaining ground as I doubt Porsche wants to slim down the extensive options list. Performance wise it's already pushing things being AWD and turbo charged.. I guess a TTT setup maybe, will be interesting.

The 991 Turbo and 991 Turbo S will be fantastic performers but don't expect these cars to hit 918 territory, not even close. The 991 Turbo S will however beat Carrera GT performance, even the one up to 300 kph. This is all I can say for now.

I looked at the 0-300 figures at fastestlaps.com

Porsche 911 Turbo S - 30.2 secs

Porsche 918 Spyder - 27 secs

Porsche Carrera GT - 34,2 secs

So latest 997.2 Turbo S is already faster than Carrera GT and rather close to 918 time!!!!!! How could you comment this? or are figures wrong and you have other ones?

A tune and simple bolt-ons would be enough to wake up the beast within indecision (that pdk better hold up or it till turn into a grinding machine in the lower gears)

Regarding prices... 991 Turbo S will be around 50K Euro cheaper then MP4-12C in Germany, both with similar options. That speaks enough for me regarding any comparison.

I haven't seen those yet. It looks GREAT. I like the wing and I think it will look even better raised. The side vents are mildly covered up but I think they will look more organic that the previous ones.
