What Logo Tagged in the back of your 997 do you prefer?

Tag less is an option with no extra money payed... Surprised that it was an option in the 1st place...

Re: What Logo Tagged in the back of your 997 do you prefer?

why you are surprised that it was an option in the 1st place?????

Re: What Logo Tagged in the back of your 997 do you prefer?

I mean you do not need to order it as option.. Just receive the car with the tag, then if you really feel like taking it off... Then you'll do it...

Re: What Logo Tagged in the back of your 997 do you prefer?

    i like 911

Re: What Logo Tagged in the back of your 997 do you prefer?

George, thats what i did, removed it after 8 months....

happy both ways.....seeking now a 991 sign in carbon maybe

Re: What Logo Tagged in the back of your 997 do you prefer?

    Carerra

Re: What Logo Tagged in the back of your 997 do you prefer?

I'm waiting to install the PSE to remove the "carrera" and replace it with "911". What do u think? Question, the 996 has a serie that comes with the 911 tag, it's the 40th aniv.; Now does the 997 has any kind of series that comes with the 911 tag form the factory?

Re: What Logo Tagged in the back of your 997 do you prefer?

Messing with factory designations is problematic. I'm not the only one who, when I see one without the tag, I think they guy is trying to cover up that it's not an S.

Re: What Logo Tagged in the back of your 997 do you prefer?

When the options you've got on your 997 exceeds by far a standard 997S hence more expensive, that wouldn't be "guy is trying to cover up that it's not an S"... Just a point

    My "S" has no badge

On a coupe I just think it looks cleaner than with the badging. I frankly couldn't give a sh*t if a handful of Porsche voyeurs with too much time on their hands feel the need to figure out what it is, that's there little problem.

You can always tell by the brakes.... unless you get those painted red also

I see a lot of Audi RS6s without the badge and I must say I really like that!

Re: What Logo Tagged in the back of your 997 do you prefer?

I will put ( in the case of my car ) 997S-H ( for hybrid )
then I can drive in the car in pool lane by myself and also have all the " environmental people " stop making faces because I am driving a gas guzzler !!!!!!!

Re: What Logo Tagged in the back of your 997 do you prefer?

If somebody doesn't know which model you have, let them ask or figure it out on their own. If the "S" is all that important, tape a bank statement to the window or keep your 1/4 mile times shoe-polished on the windshield.

I like the cleaner look of the car when you remove anything you can with the exception of the Crest on the hood.

Now that would look plain stupid, woouldn't it? j/k with you, no offense meant.

    997 vs 997S

There are two types of people who will ever see your car: Those who know P cars well and those who don't (or don't care). The former isn't getting fooled by a missing emblem and the latter doesn't even know the S version exists. I guess a third type is the S owner who thinks their car is so envious that non-S owners actually hide the true identity of their car. Whether the decision to buy a non-S car was related to finances, availability or just plain preference, I don't think 997 owners think about it as much as some 997S owners do (or think we do).

No, that would be just plain foolish.

Re: What Logo Tagged in the back of your 997 do you prefer?

The thing devo is that I personal think that spending on options, for me, is more important than a 0.2 second gain of a S. I'm not saying that the S is not a super great car but if I'm really searching for ultra power I would've get a turbo or GT3

Re: What Logo Tagged in the back of your 997 do you prefer?

It's a game of competition and one-ups-manship that Porsche encourages by making the different 997s look slightly different.

It's like they want to condition us to the color of calipers, the shape of the exhaust tips, various apertures.

So when you see one you are always trying to figure out which one it is. Theoretically all Carreras should really look the same because essential differences between models such as brakes, engines, etc are hidden from view.

When you mess with the designations (make them inconsistent or unavailable) you short circuit people's ID process wether you like it, or don't like it or could care less about it.

It's just a fact of life. Also a fact of life that they will natrually wonder why you elected to eliminate or modify a designation.

Re: What Logo Tagged in the back of your 997 do you prefer?

MMD i dont care about what the people will

do, think, perceive, feel ,or even judge

i ll just do what i like with my car..
caring so much about others, makes you forget about what makes you feel good

Re: What Logo Tagged in the back of your 997 do you prefer?

George i too waited to have the PSE installed until i removed my badging!!!!!!!

    we think the same;))

Re: What Logo Tagged in the back of your 997 do you prefer?

... Same preferences Dilinger! I really think that many understands our point of view...

Re: My "S" has no badge

    911

Re: My "S" has no badge

you left out another factory option. To have the rear badge painted to match the body. it makes it a little more subtle.

    Dan

Re: My "S" has no badge

How about this option? Either describes the end of the car being viewed, or for those rude Porsche drivers, their disposition
