    I'll only be happy if I see you getting 270 km per tank at 270 kph.

    Not really a problem. At 270 kph, fuel consumption is around 22 liters / 100 km but it really gets bad over 280/300 kph. Never seen more than 28 liters / 100 km though as far as I remember. The fuel range display is quite accurate btw. but I also have the advantage of having the optional 83 l fuel tank.

    Fuel consumption is really bad on the track, over 30. Smiley

    Smiley The eat less fuel now, actually surprisingly less (even compared to my former 991.1 Turbo S).

    Turbo engines are real fuel eating monsters once you go full throttle at higher speeds.

    Thanks, guys. I really enjoy these drives because they are a little bit of a change from my typical (driving) routine (I have some specific routes I take because they are very curvy, basically no trees (which lowers the risk) and you don't have to exceed the speed limit to have fun).

    Most people are quite surprised to see such a car in the mountains in winter time, I always get a lot of positive feedback.  Smiley

    Driver of the R8 is handicapped and controls throttle/brake with right hand, steering with the left hand. Still...quite impressive driving. It is his own car.

    Audi offers this as an option from the factory, cost is around 1600 EUR. 

    Retrofit cost should be slightly over 2000 EUR or so.

    The sound is out of this world, indeed. Only the V12 in the Aventador sounds better...at times. Smiley

    Me and many others still wonder how Audi pulled off the TÜV certification for the R8 sport exhaust.

    Btw: There are bypass claps in the airfilter box which can be deactivated, improving the sound further. They have only one function, to limit the sound level. I haven't touched them because the car is already almost too loud but there are ways of improvement without going for aftermarket stuff. Including the deactivation of the flaps system (flaps always open) of the sport exhaust system. Again, I didn't touch this stuff because the car is already too loud (for many).

    Oh boy, that V10 sound gets me goosebumps all the time. Smiley

    RC - Did you hear about that? Apparently Audi is updating the software on the next service to lower the noise. A friend of mine has also the R8+ (told you bout) - his car was quiet after the service. Audi told him, that the update was mandatory and can't be taken back. He is mega p*ssed and thinks about legal actions.

    I specifically forbid my dealer to do any software update without consulting with me after that exhaust sound "incident" I had with them (same thing, sound was quieter after I left my car for an oil exchange). He will also connect the Audi tester to my car only before he talked to me (some updates happen automatically without dealer interaction).

    So no worries here...yet.

    If true, I would be pissed as well but like I said, I had a similar issue with Audi and they sent an engineer and everything is back to normal. Apparently the software needed a complete reset.

    Are you sure that Audi told him that they muted his exhaust? This is the first time I heard about it. I only know about VW doing it with a Golf R update.

    Right now I am driving this one...got a tennis ball sized stone into my windshield yesterday...car is at dealer for a new windshield (will be ready Friday).

    Yes, I am very happy that I kept my calm when the stone hit the windshield. My son screamed when it happened, the impact was quite hefty and loud. 

    This R8 with the stripes actually looks very good in my opinion, the stripes and those Audi Sport stickers fit this particular car. It would look awful on my Suzuka grey car. Actually, I think that this is the only color which can pull of this stripes/sticker look on the R8. I was pretty surprised myself.

    Actually, I am thinking of wrapping my car with a black matte metallic foil (which would look very similar to the Audi offered Daytona grey matte color) and painting my rims in black. Not sure about it yet though because it costs around 4-5k EUR and I don't know if it is worth it. I like Suzuka grey a lot, especially because it doesn't look that aggressive.

    Nimbus grey, very interesting color. I do not think that any other color would go with these stripes and stickers. Honestly. Weird.

    Finally found that speedo pic...324 kph...not bad (already saw 343 kph though, speedo error is 10 kph on my car at that speed, according to GPS).

    Like I said before, the car accelerates extremely fast to 290, then quite fast to 315 or so and then it starts getting slower to higher speeds, with a very slow speed again above 340 kph (speedo reading).

    1 year at 2100 Euro looks to be the best deal. The new R8 is depreciating a ton in Europe even in the first year.

    This seems to be a fleet condition which is only offered to Audi major customers. SmileyIn Germany this means you have to operate a company with at least 25 employees and have at least 15 company cars. Furthermore, you should buy at least 5 VW / Audi per year.

    Good question: And people still seem to prefer to pay much more money for Porsches, MacLarens, etc... 😂 😉

    Btw: Conny is right...fleet offer and prices are without VAT and calculated based on the base price (a Spyder V10 would be at least 220k with options).

    The lease factor is 0,77% which is very low.
