Yes, they are more "integrated" in design then on 997 Turbo.

    hunterone:

like the 991 GT3 more design wise.

I like the 997 Turbo overall, but the 991 GT3 looks awesome and the turbo a little dull, in comparison.  Can't wait to see the numbers.

I love the back. (Especially the grill on the engine cover). On the other hand I'm not enamored with the front.  It sits too high from the ground for my taste. The side profile is very nice as well.

The car looks great, except Panamera style exhaust pipes...

I was hoping for a better looking side air intake ( a la 993 turbos S) but I guess they will stay with 997 TT style Smiley.

    Wow,

nice find. Thank you! I did expect a more eccentric styling considering the previous two generations as well as the intended price tag. Looks much more elegant than I would´ve thought.

Look at Kreso's first post on page 62 and you will realize that the side intakes will be better looking that on the 997TT's.  Smiley They are still hidden on the car pictured.

Could not agree more.  I would even say that the front with the more integrated blinkers looks (even) more harmonious than that of the regular Carrera.  Smiley

As you all stated.... the front looks so much more harmonic than the "normal 991". Curious about the side vents!

The mirrors looks great, too - much better than on the Carrera!

    Hmm... No.

Re: 991 spyshots thread (continued) (for UNRELEASED models only) Thread Closed

It looks to me like the that what you see on the side inlet is a sticker in the shape of the 997 turbo inlet.
My guess is that the edge around the inlet (where the plastic insert used to be) is now gone, and that the shape is slightly altered. My photoshop skills are VERY limited, but you may get the idea.
Are my assumptions in the right direction Kreso? (don't look too much at my bad PS, but more to my description).

I always said that the indicators/DR-unit is the weak point of the 991-design. The Turbo-front looks much more harmonious. Smiley

I also like the Carrera GT-style mirrors much better. Smiley

why so few HP and only bi-turbo??? is this a joke? Ho will it compete to GTR with 2.7 secs to 100kmh!!! It have to be faster!!!

What did you expect? Base turbo with 560ps and turbo S with 600ps? Come one!
First, Porsche ps/hp are the biggest ones on the market.
Second, wait for the official numbers before you make any judgement.
Third, do you honestly belive in GT-R numbers? This number that you mentiome was not achieved in Amy German carag...

Re: 991 spyshots thread (continued) (for UNRELEASED models only) Thread Closed

Porsche turbo has to compete with 458 and mp4-12. First one has 570 hp and stradale or whatever will come with 640hp (clapton one off has such power). Second one has 625hp. So 560 hp looks very mediocre. Even gt3 with n/a engine has gained more power. So, lets wait official.

I dont believe in 2.7 secs on GTR, but 2.8- 2.9 secs for GTR is real...

we will of course wait for official numbers. But i expected 540-550 hp for base turbo and 570-580 hp for turbo s. the competition us tough!

KresoF1, why did they say about bi-turbo?)

Re: 991 spyshots thread (continued) (for UNRELEASED models only) Thread Closed

    * Turbo: 532 hp (Imp) -> 539 hp (eu)

    * Turbo S: 557 hp (Imp) -> 564,3 hp (eu)

So I guess, those numbers are good enoughkiss

Since these numbers were posted by German auto motor und sport, I doubt that they would post anything other than EU-numbers. But what I find a bit strange are the 532/557-numbers. All Porsche power figures except the one for the Cayenne S Diesel end either on a "0" or a "5". So the new Turbo will have something like 532 or 557? Well... Smiley

Nah, that's just what people say because they have no choice but to settle for the lack of design innovation. I still can't bring myself to buy 911's. I'm just so bored of there appearance.

If the 991 looked like the 918, even 911 die-hard fans would buy them.
If the 997 looked like the CGT, same would have been true.

While I do think the 991 looks great, it doesn't like $150-200K great. No way I'm spending that kind of money on something that looks like a 911 when there are cars like the McLaren, 458, and next-R8,

I guess this is why they are going to make a mid-engine car in the $200's, and IMO no enthusiasts will even want a 991 TT after that comes out.

If you dont get 911 design and its development, simply buy/look something else. 911 design philosophy is unchangeable, cgt or 918 are greatly designed cars, but like every model they come/or will come and then depart. 911 was, is and will beSmiley

911 will sell well, no doubts there.
