I'm certainly no expert, but very kind of you to say so.

We do not yet know for sure. we are just basing these assumption (which look to be correct) on BoP values.

However, I would not be surprised that we see this engine appearing in the 991RSR later in the year (after Le Mans) in order to have it race tested before offering it to clients. (mojelme and I have discussed this on another forum)

This is a development year for the 991, so I expect that the ACO/FiA will be lenient with the rules.

Thanks..well, you know the rules quite well. Smiley..The question is to me now, will BMW, Ferrari etc accept this without ease..I mean they know pretty well that keeping Porsche on the "leash" is just to their benefit..letting Porsche do something...which others (except BMw?) haven not been allowed to..and can Porsche be sure - that the Fia would accept their request? Sounds like playing with fire..where Porsche doesnt have much control on the fire..many ifs in here..

So if the 991 turbo will be quick upto 200kph, what about 300kph and top speed ? 7th gear will be the useless overdrive like in the 997.2 turbo cars ?

What's the highest mileage for a 911 TT with pdk ? any reports of failed engine / transmission ?

Hmm, I would hazard to guess all the variables were taken into consideration... :)

You can look at it in different way, the current 991 is racing with the older engine through a waiver. So insted of thinking of the engine chage as development, the FIA can consider it as simply being removal of the waiver :) Ferrari has been preatty leanient about other manufacturers so far, I  dont think they'll opose an earlier 991 as oposed to the current situation which is ridiculus.. I mean the FIA just gave the same BoP to 2 cars (probably) only based on the engine spacs. It's like they didn't even think the 991 will have a much better aero and chassis.

Don't think BMW has much say in it, as it's so iligal it would be rediculus for it to complain for anything other then someone using rocket boosters..

The LED lights will be available as an option for all 911 models and the upcoming Panamera facelift.

I don't have a date yet but apparently they won't be available for this MY I'm afraid. So if you order a MY 2013 car, you won't be able to order these lights. Check with your dealer, maybe he knows more. A retrofit is impossible as far as I heard.

    Thanks for the info!  :)

I'll ask my dealer, but I was already thinking to go for  a MY2014 car. Ordering now means probably delivery around july for the specs I want, but I'm in the U.S. for 5-6 weeks from july till halfway september. That means I will not be able to take delivery before the end of september.  A MY2014 will be better for the resale value too I guess although that is not the most imprtant aspect for me.

Are there any other major changes for MY2014 that anyone knows about? Dealers are not that informative about MY-changes, as they prefer to sell the car yesterday instead of today and sell you another one next year.  ;)

Agree. Why so agly wheels for the new Turbo-this question needs to be asked. Wheels for new GT3 are very nice, but this ones on Turbo are simpy agly and not sporty at all.

BTW, I heard from my P source that apparently most 991 costumers order Sport Classic wheels(IMHO also ugly wheels that are not sporty at all) so, Porsche choose another 10 spoke variation as standard 991 Turbo wheels.

Do you mean Carrera Classic or Sport Design rims? The latter are indeed ugly, the former "classic" as the name suggest but very versatile in its appearance.

Re: 991 spyshots thread (continued) (for UNRELEASED models only) Thread Closed

I think the carrera classic wheel is stunning!!! I don't want any other wheel on my 991 :)  but its also depending on the color of the car of course. But the classic wheel fits on any color in my opinion.  On dark colors it gives the car a classic yet modern look, especially with the aluminium window frames.

BTW KrezoF1.... Can u give a definition of "a sporty wheel"??  Smiley

I think that it is more a matter of taste. Porsche will have plenty of options on the new Turbo for everyone's taste I guess...
