Wow listening to the Engineer, they are convinced the GT3 stays 100% pure. Apparently they reworked the sport PDK in such a way that you can still break out the rear mid corner like you could a manual car.. all in all I am a fan. And like the guy says "anyone with doubts or concerns, drive it before commenting on it" It looks very sharp, not overdone but very sexy. Who here will buy the first one??!

All NA engines are like that, they make nothing down low. 458 has no manual and no one complaints.

You did a great job as you always do here on rennteam.
BTW, I also fully agree with you-new 991 GT3 is simply said an awsome sportscar. Probably, I will get one. Also, 137303€ base price in Germany do not seem that high since with most needed options you will still end at around 155K €-157K € and this is actually below the price of 991 C4S with X51 and some goodies.
Another agreement is new 991 Turbo-according to my P source(which btw, was always providing me with accurate info) it will be mind blowing.
To add few hints-new 991 Turbo will be different in character then 991 GT3 and best possible thing is to have both in garage...
Manual fans-sorry to say this- manual in 991 versions of GT3/GT2 or Turbo/Turbo S will not happened.

The Turbo will surprise too...this is what I wanted to say. Performance will be amazing. For track addicts, the GT3 is the better choice of course.

I did not sleep well last, night . The GT3 was too much on my mind !!
But now that I am getting a bit used to it , I might be abble to resist temptation and wait patiently for the RS .
When is it due ? ( RC, Kreso )
The RS price tag will be steep as far as I heard, so be "prepared"...
It should be at dealers around spring 2014 but I have no precise date yet.
Power will be "over 500 hp" according to latest rumors.

There was a thread on PH recently where a mechanic cracked open a Mezger GT3 engine which was running without any obvious faults. The mechanic detailed a collection of wear items as he dismantled the engine. (He has since deleted his input on the thread after the reactions it caused so I can't specify the components)
The reaction from posters lots of whom were owners and potential owners was quite dramatic with the feeling that all GT3 Mezgers were ticking time bombs with fragile engines and big £££££ needing spending at some point in their future.
The Mechanic got quite exasperated since the interpretation of most posters was not what he intended, for him it was a simple case of replacing worn items as you would in any "houred" race Mezger but 80% of posters were going into panic mode that their supposed unbreakable Mezger would need this kind of maintenance........
Reading the spec on this new A91 based GT3 engine and listening to Preuninger's words should have one full of confidence and excited and that 100ms gearchange at 9000rpm with the "crack" (noise) of the change being an incredible thing......
I just don't believe that this new engine will be durable if it is used "properly" and just don't trust Porsche any more after some of the recent engines they have produced. I think they have changed their engine philosophy along with the market and market expectations and the over engineered engine concept has well and truly gone with engines built for a price and enough durability that the first and maybe second owners get decent reliability but after 50K miles and 4 years it is not their problem and why should it be.......

This is an insignificant question, but i haven`t seen yet (on spy pics), 991 Turbo with 5 spoke wheels... aren't they be available?

I'm not sure a 991 GT3 and 991 Turbo would make sense together. Unless of course the owner would use the GT3 for the track and the Turbo for the street. As a fun car, the GT3 makes a lot of sense but as a daily driver, the 991 Turbo is the better choice. So for weekend fun, I would probably choose the GT3 but people also shouldn't forget that the GT3 has only two seats.

The new GT3 looks to have great interest to me as a possible next car, I really like what I have seen so far. At £100k it also looks surprisngly good value to me, compared to a C2S with PDK with paddles, X51, nice wheels, Aero and PASM with -20mm.
I am however quite cautious about PDK only (as I hated it so much in the end I sold my 997.2 largely because of it), but I am rather encouraged by Andreas's comments on the video about how they have modified it just for the GT3 to ensure it has the right character and its great to see paddles and std and the fact they have swapped round the up and downshifts finally!
I actually love the fact that they seem to have widend the spectrum of the car making it more comfortable yet not loosing the spirit of GT. For me a GT3 would be my daily driver and I would want it to have as many comforts as possible well as being great to drive both slow and fast. I want a car to drive great, look great, sound great and be a nice place to sit in when Im not driving at full whack. I realse that most people would rather loose a gadget and loose 2kg of weight, but I for one wouldnt as I dont care really about that last tenth on a lap time as I wouldnt personally track the car. I'm hoping for instance that with the new Burmister audio available on other 991's that they might allow BOSE (or maybe even the Burmister itself) in the GT3 this time and not just the rather poor "Sound Package Plus", but I realise Im in a significant minority here. I guess I will see in the next few days/weeks when the UK price and full options list is published.

I agree with some points you made. Looking for a 991 Carrera S for myself a while ago, I came up with a 140k EUR price tag. The GT3 is only 11k EUR more, so it makes much more sense. Unfortunately the GT3 lacks the rear seats of the Carrera models, which would be a little bit of a problem for me.

True but still...a lot of money. The new Turbo is rumored to have a base price close to 160k EUR (incl. BOSE and the LED lights).
