I think it's interesting how they make a big deal of the rocker arms for the valve lift.  Isn't this what every air-cooled 911 has used for 50 years?

They also claim they made the car more useable for daily driving. From my perspective that is a huge plus.

However, I still have a problem with the back wing. Appears to have been added on after the car was built very much the ricer cars I see around my area. The TT wing appears built in and looks like part of the car.

Re: 991 spyshots thread (continued) (for UNRELEASED models only) Thread Closed

From the press release posted above: "Manual shifting is achieved using two paddles on the steering wheel, the left-hand for upshifts and the right-hand for downshifts".  Did anyone else notice this?  I can only assume (and hope) that this was a typo.  Smiley

    Yes, typo already admitted

Err, not quite. Racing seats will cost you between 3.300 and 6.200 Euro, depending on the trim.

I'm afraid there is a little bit of misunderstanding here: The Clubsport Package can be ordered free of cost but only in conjunction with the optional bucket seats which unfortunately are not free.

I actually don't get it: How much more could be the bucket seats over the normal seats? They are asking over 3k EUR for them, unbelievable. They should be a cost-free option but this is so typical Porsche. Smiley

well, yes..but honestly, these seats are the best Porsche - automotive seats - EVER. So paying 3K more for good seats that keep you healthy is OK for me. However, the price of the PCCB for example is way too much..

Great seats with one big problem for me - they are mounted too high with no height adjustment (and 991 has even less headroom than 997 - and I already can't wear a helmet in a 997 GT3 with these seats).  I hope they offer a lower mounting option (or adjustable).

It'a about time Porsche revisit Dr. Wiedking's business model of milking the customers with option pricing.

If customers have changed, why not change the business strategy accordingly?

The new engine won't be racing this year, this has been confirmed throught the recent;y announced BoP for the 991 RSR..

it is BoPed to run with 25kg less, 5l of fuel more, 0.7mm larger restrictors everything the same as last years car.. (figures compared to the Ferrari 458)

This comment means one of two things :)

    1. 100-150 HP electric motor for turbo, assisting the power when it really needs.

    2. fully EV 911 which is VERY COOL, but completely unlikely :)

we'll wait for the surprise :)

Thanks..interesting info. I think Spyderman was an expert here on the rules...maybe you too:)

So, what does it mean in reality.?.if I remember correctly Sypderman words, it means that Porsche will use the current engine for another two years..as its simply according to the rules not possible..to change after one year.- correct?

So 2015 in the RSR for the new engine...?
