Though I would not consider a Rolls-Royce, this was one vehicle that I had impatiently waited to see unveiled at Genf as my expectations were set high. The concept of a sporting, fastback Rolls-Royce was definitely intriguing.
Unfortunately, the final product fell woefully short of my expectations. Frankly, I'm stunned by the overly heavy lines and the less than well placed shunt lines. The idea that RR wants to push a two tone paint scheme with this abomination is stomach turning...
However, the GT3, while a bit more extroverted than I had hoped is stellar and the Lamborghini Veneno is bat$hit crazee!

McLaren's chief designer Frank Stephenson was seen at the Geneva Motor Show photographing the new LaFerrari. He said the reason why some people don't like McLarens is because their lines and dimensions are deceiving on photos. However, when these people see the real thing they change their minds right away. He added the McLaren P1 on display in Geneva will appear in Jay Leno's Garage and that three units have been ordered by only one customer.
I saw both cars for real and up close yesterday.
The P1 looks much better in real, actually it looks very good. They just display it with the wrong colors.
That said, the LaFerrari lookes like you get more for your money, as it is bigger and the design is more refined .
If free, I would get the P1, but if I had to drop the kind of money they cost, I could not do it on the P1.

Not what Rolls Royce is all about IMO. A Rolls Royce should be a more formal, statuesque car not like this at all. Like the Bentley Continental GT it's now a footballer's wife's car. I'm sure it will sell well in the Gulf States and China though where brash and bling is in vogue. I agree with Heist & sfo, the Bentley Brooklands is much more respectable, but I asssume RR just wanted to do "different".
I wonder why BMW / RR have stopped using the traditional prefix "Silver" with their car names?
