It shouldn't be called GT3 then. 
I find it more of a sacrilege not to use the GT3 engine for other models and I am deeply disappointed that Porsche didn't use the GT3 engine, in a detuned version with lets say only 450 hp, for the current GTS.

Porsche has to protect the myth around GT cars. Not only to sell them in future for high prices, also to keep the "GT brand" high and not delute that.

I rather think it is a cost factor. If Porsche would think it costs the same or be even cheaper, they would use the GT3 tech in other models as well. Actually, wait for the 991.2 and you'll see...

M3ike:My former GT3 which I sold back to the dealer with 1900km blew its engine After the 2. lap in Dijon in April. I was adhering strictly to the running in instructions. It's no coincidence that the RS engine has a higher grade crankshaft.

Did your crankshaft snap? I've had that happen at the track with an air-cooled 911 and it is not pleasant.

Ok, got an excellent offer yesterday from my PZ. They will got 2 991 GT3 afte industrial holidays in Germany. Cars are build and I got VIN for both and all details.
Now, specs are almost the same with one huge difference-one car is with P07 Adaptive seats and other is with P03 Folding buckets and Cage.
Which one to choose? Is cage really limiting package area on the back that much? Which one will have better resale value in 4 years or so? My plan is to keep this car for at least 3 year period.
Opinion from 991 GT3 owners is welcome. Thanks.
tso:My logic would be that the guys looking for such a car in the future is going to use it for track driving or at least as a toy. I would not be looking for the "comfort" version at all.
