Since I live off my own slamming canyons, I must agree I sure hate the sound of the harley pig bikes going by, but somehow GT3 noise is ok...  i wonder why?  ohh, there are a few places to hit third gear for about three seconds

Black does not do this car justice. All the lines are hidden. Yesterday I saw an on coming 997GT3 in dark blue and I could not tell what kind of car it was until it has it was almost next to me.

Also, I was advised yesterday that my car build date has been pushed back one week now around Jan. 18th with delivery in late March. This is surprising since many buyers have been told their cars will be build sooner than expected.

That's one of the reasons why I love the 911 and only get some idiot in a honda with a wing or a dinky jdm car with a turbo revving at me Smiley

Nick - have you considered the free option of Stuttgart delivery?  I would love to drive that car on unrestricted Autobahnen and Nurburgring!

    Hi All
I am new to this forum. Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Mark, and I live in The Northwest Area ( Vancouver, Wa). I did order my Red GT3 last September, and I am pleased to report that Porsche AG has completed my GT-3 last Friday November 22nd. Porsche projects that they will be able to deliver my new GT-3 around January 5th. See below built sheet, which also shows vehicle status.

I removed the photo (sorry, haven't been aware of the many details on that sheet) but if Mark doesn't care, he can upload it again. However, I would advice against too many details (address for example) in the forum.

Indeed. Good initiative. I would also imagine it was unwanted by Mark.

The first customer GT3 has been delivered to my dealer last friday .

Also , last week, they had a demo GT3 for 2 days, but during those 2 days it was  snowing  here …. so all tests for the clients have been canceled . I was on the list to try it laugh

I seriously considered it but the timing of the build date was too uncertain, delivery during winter months and horrid parking in many cities. I've done my share of driving in Europe and enjoyed it especially in the countryside. Would have loved to blow through some of the mountain roads and hearing the car scream at 9000rpm.

Thank you so much for removing it. I actually meant to upload a modified one which I masked some of this information but for some reason I ended up by a mistake uploading the original one.

Interesting how none of the  first customers are on any of the main forums... Probably says more about the different customer base for this new GT3.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

Some real enthusiasts also reside in RHD countries. From my understanding I was first to order in South Africa (put down a deposit March last year when it was unveiled) but the build date is only last week of December.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

Oops - I meant to say March this year - but it does feel like an awful long time ago!

Even in Germany, first cars just go to customers now (first cars were delivered last week or the week before last week), so you need to wait a couple of days (weeks) until you see the first reports coming in. Also many customers picked up their car but won't put in on the street until spring since the weather isn't too nice here right now and as far as I heard, there are no winter wheel sets available yet (I could be wrong about this one, last time I checked was three weeks ago).

This is just the wrong time of the year for a GT3 in Europe...we need to wait for first reports from the US and other countries with better weather.

I will fly to Switzerland on Saturday to pick up my 991 GT3 RHD on 6th December (it was completed V300 week 47 - last week). I will drive 5000 km on the car between 06 Dec and 30 Dec in Europe, mostly South France, Italy and mostly Sicily...I will let you all know what I think....

I hope the weather is OK. Today it snowed in Bavaria and they have announced more snow for the weekend. Not sure about Switzerland but this is a pretty bad time to pick up a GT3 over here.

Have fun and drive carefully. Smiley

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

RC. I am a mad Kiwi! I cant fly 25,000km to just look at it. It will be driven as hard as the conditions allow. I need a 36 hr window to make it down to Nice from Zurich (ans safely as possible) and all should be fine. From Nice to Genoa and on overnight ferry to Palmero. In Sicily it is not snowing....

There are no winter tyres for the 991 GT3 yet. The rear must stretch over 12" rim. Even so I have now seen 5-6 customer deliveries being driven on the road in germany and switzerland (includes white, dark blue, black and agate grey) so some people are feeling brave...

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

cool ! I need to do TUV on the GT2 mid December as well - praying for dry roads indecision Nice can be done in 6 h when dry from Zurich - go and stay at the http://www.grand-hotel-cap-ferrat.com/uk/index.php - one of my favorate places

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

Bjoern. Thats a suburb suggestion - my wife has fallen in love with the hotel and we are discussing staying 3 nights!  Thanks very much. If we wanted to make it from Zurich to Nice all in one drive around 9 Dec what route would you recommend remembering we have 991 GT3 with no winter tyres? Thanks kndly....

I don't see any weather issues around Nice but Genoa could be a different story, be careful.

The biggest problem could be actually your insurance. I don't know what kind of insurance you are using but in some countries, the usage of winter tires is recommended or even mandatory for some regions (or streets). If something happens, the insurance can refuse payment. Be careful and make sure you know what you are doing. Palermo shouldn't be a problem though but I'm not so sure it is the safest place for such a car. Smiley South Spain could have been interesting...or even Portugal. Nice roads there. Smiley I guess you are from Sicily?

This is a Genoa photo from last year in mid december...ouch.

The weather is cold now ( between -2 and + 3 ) , but we have blue sky and sun .

I would drive from Zurich to Geneva ( as the Swiss highway are cleared very quickly if there is any snow ) and then , if the weather is ok : Geneva - Chambery , Valence …. and down to Marseille/Nice

If the weather is bad  ( possible snow ) : Geneva- Lyon - Valence …. and down .

Just tell me the time at which you will be passing in my area, I'll stand on the side of the highway to give you a wave Smiley
