    An electronic parking brake does not function when the vehicle is at speed under normal operating conditions, i.e., no hydraulic brake failure.  It serves to function as a parking brake and a hill hold.  

     

     That is not 100% correct - I just had a BMW Snow training and we learned to use the electronic parking brake on snow downhill to additionally help breaking - it works like a charm....

    When I was young and I only had my car for intimate encounters, the handbrake was always an obstruction. Therefore, I developed a dislike for this piece of equipment. I am glad it is being abandoned.

    So it will be presented in Frankfurt 09/2013, if Porsche want to introduce the GT3 on the anniversary. Even so, I'm sure they will release official pictures much earlier.

    I heard a rumor from some P source, that GT3 and Turbo will be revealed together.... But I was pretty sure that he was wrong....yes  Since we know that Turbo will be presented on September, so....

    Heard from source that rs will have a 4.2l motor or larger with 550hp.

    It'll be disappointing if the GT3 isn't there, though there's plenty of other great new stuff to see and Geneva is always a great show, as the halls are so spacious in comparison to many others. Helps that you're in the hall 5 minutes after leaving the aircraft as well.

    • Lamborghini Concept (Possible V12 GT)
    • Rolls Royce Wraith
    • Alfa Romeo 4C (Production)
    • Spyker B6 Concept
    • Volkswagen XL1

    It's possible the list will be continually updated for the next week or so, or perhaps automakers are allowed to keep some cards up their sleeves. Smiley

    I'm on the list here for the 991 GT3 here and have been looking forward to the official unveiling for some time.  It would be painful if she isn't at Geneva.

    I'm expecting the GT3 in 5 days in Geneva and the 50th Anniversary model (special edition like Sport Classic) in September in Frankfurt.

    BTW, spoke today with somebody from P. As I said it is not the best source of mine, but anyway, he told me that P would not leave any surprises for Geneva. It means, that if the GT3 is not in the list, so it wouldn't be there.... laugh

    It would of made sense to have it in Geneva, so that costumers could have ordered it for the summer track season .

    So what will they show ? The 50th special edition ... surprise I remember the photos shoots have been made last fall , so that one must be ready since a long time now.

    Porsche have so many  new models to show this year, they should start by now . Unless some postponed .... 

    Would the turbo be presented now and the GT3 in frankfurt ?  ( but it does not make too much sense to me )

    That what I heard....Turbo will be presented in Geneva.... My P source were pretty sure with that... There is too many rumors about that...I don't know what is true....
