I popped in to see the car today and it's coming along nicely. The paintwork has been flatted back and given it's first polish, all of the lower body and shutline areas have had the satin black applied , the front and rear screens went back in this morning and both doors have been refitted. The new cooling fan motors have been fitted and the NOS Carrello front headlights were going back on whilst I was there. The car will be built back up over the next two weeks and I can hardly wait to see it all finished.

The view along the side is deliciously curvy again.....

Inside of the doors satin blacked.....

NOS correct Lucas cooling fan motors....

The engine bay frame repainted and the chassis number plate area cleaned up. The dent around the chassis number is due to the over enthusiastic stamping of the number by the person who placed it on the frame during the original build at the Scaglietti factory.

The new paint colour revealed in daylight......

The flawless line of lower satin black paint to the body .......

The front grille with outer frame reshaped, bars straightened and all repainted ready to be refitted to the nose...

A last photo before I left with both headlights back in and the front side indicator repeaters refitted...

Iain I hope you don't mind me saying this but when I finally do a trip to the UK I am making an obligatory stop to take a billion pictures of your Dinos. I offer you a nice coffee or cup of tea for the troubles.

Another update. The bodywork was completed at the end of last week and once again Graham and Jason have produced outstanding work. They are now cracking on my with my final car which should take them around 4 months to complete.

I didn't get any good outside shots due to the weather but will take some in a couple of weeks when the car comes back to me. It's gone back to my dealer for a few final items to be finished (new exhaust back box, carb jet modification etc) and will then be ready for the Spring.

Confusing - If this guy is a leading Ferrari specialist, why has he abandoned the project? It can't be on a financial footing surely? The price range shown for the auction is a pittance compared to what he could command for the finished article... Smiley

Rob had to start somewhere and, although he now takes specific and individual orders, he must have demonstrated what he can do at the outset without a specific buyer in mind.... Smiley

It looks fantastic and drives beautifully. White is very hard to photograph well but rest assured that in the metal the car looks superb. I'm delighted with the end result.

White may be hard to get a good photo, but in some ways it amplifies how correct every detail actually has been done.

Thank you for all the positive comments. It's been a lot of fun restoring these cars and tracking down elusive parts as I've had to locate almost everything apart from some of the mechanical parts that me dealer was able to source from a UK based specialist.

I'll get some shots of the two cars together at some point over the coming weeks as they are stored in different locations.

In the meantime here are a few shots showing some of the superb detail work the body shop did on the satin black shutline areas.
