RC:
Like Maserati, Aston Martin is, in my opinion, too expensive for what they deliver. I don't quite understand the strategy behind both companies and I don't really know if they actually make money with their products but I would never buy a Maserati or Aston Martin, not because they are ugly or slow but because the price/performance ratio isn't right.
Just my humble opinion...
For under 100k EUR, I would have gone for the Vantage V12 but for the same price as a 911 Turbo, I prefer the Porsche.
Sorry, Christian. The new Quattroporte V8 BT has nearly the same power figures like a Panamera Turbo. A full equiped one will cost 175.000 € with RSE and so one. A fully equipped Porsche Panamera Turbo with natural leather etc. will cost nearly 180.000 €? The Aston Martin Rapide S is not on the performance level like a Porsche Panamera Turbo, but if you would by a Aston Martin only because its perfomance figures, you will buy the wrong car. An Aston Martin driver loves the understatement of the car, the exclusive mix of materials and the exklusivity, but i agree that the Rapide is in general too expensive imho.
But I cannot understand, why you would pay for an industrial product like a Porsche more than for a handbuilt car like a Aston Martin? For example a handbuilt clock costs much more than a standard clock. A clock is a clock. But a Patek Philippe is much more exclusiv than an Omega. Is it the better performing clock?
A Porsche is a Porsche and is nothing special imho. It is one of the greatest sports cars, but not longer exclusive. Sorry, you know where i am coming from and i love the Porsche marketing and the cars performance, but i am not only on racetracks.
