LOL, I was searching for that movie!

I recalled that there were some issues with GT3's loosing wheels at high speed, but couldn't find the movie anymore.
Is it really so that certain models only come with the centre locking wheels, or are 5 nut wheels also available for all models?

5-lugs were optional on gts and Turbo S, but required on all the GT models

No, it isn't. Different spot. What you posted is before Hohe Acht...

Crash happened further (just before Pflanzgarten).

Re: 991 spyshots thread (continued) (for UNRELEASED models only) Thread Closed

It's pretty easy to do 200 miles in one days track-driving, so 4,000 miles is about 20 trackdays. For a lot of people that is only a year or two of track-use. There's a lot of extra expense added for no added benefit as compared to normal 5-lugs.

Also when you buy a used car with centre-locks how is anyone to know what track mileage has been accumulated? The dealer will always say none..... I know someone who trailered a 996GT3RS and only ever drove it on track. It was sold after two years with 'only 9,000 miles' and looked immaculate. Even the dealer didn't know it had done literally every mile on circuits.....

    Grant:

Not to mention that it requires expensive tools, saves no weight and requires someone to press the brakes when changing front wheels to keep them from spinning under the large required torque - big mistake...

I for one turbo s, gt3, gt2 buyer repeatedly will never deal w center locks again after my 2011 turbo s cab.  I dont track and im wayyyyy the f.k out in the weeds on dirt much o f the summer. I bought all those f.g tools that Porsche should suplply, minimized the carry pack and ran for Wyoming.  Got Porsche to guarantee flatbed to salt lake dealer as back up.

Much more relaxed this year, no worries with 991 s cab. Just FedEx the tyre in.

Im not orderingthese rigs so I hope lots of guys do with lugs.

As confirmed by a member from another forum, who is affiliated with a dealership in US, there willbe no manual gearbox for the GT3, at least at the launch. And yes, it's coming very soon...

Re: 991 spyshots thread (continued) (for UNRELEASED models only) Thread Closed

    how soon?

I live in Bogota, Colombia (South America), I own two 911's, 1969 911E and 2010 997.2 c2 pdk, I'm very dissapointed with the dealer in Colombia, because my car has a brake failure since new, it has been 14 times at the workshop and they have not been able to solve the problem, right now I'm talking with the after sales manager from Porsche Latin America trying to find a solution.

I don't want to keep doing business with the local dealer, that's why I'm looking for a Maserati MC Stradale or maybe a Ferrari California, I don't have enough money to afford a Ferrari 458.

I really like the 991 turbo, or maybe a GT3, that's why I would like to have an estimated sales date for those two models.

Thanks a lot for your help and comments.

Sorry to hear about your problems. I think you should ask them to fix the problem or buy the car back from you at cost price if they cannot fix it, as compensation.

Definitely wait for the GT3 but buy it from a better Porsche dealer. Good luck.

Hi guys, thanks for your support, in Colombia we only have 1 Porsche dealer, I really hope to get some help from Porsche Latino America, otherwise I will be suing the dealer the next week, and quitting Porsche for life....

Keep posting pictures, videos and specs for upcoming models, I just can't wait to see the Gt3 and the Turbo...

Seriously, the wing design on that thing... mail
I really do hope that the wings we have seen so far are just testing wings, but if experiences from the past are an indication for the future, then I fear that this is the final thing...

Give me the folded taco design over this design any time!

I think this is the GT3 wing. Looks like the "Aerokit Cup" you can spec for any Carrera. And if I look back, this was always the case: Carrera's Aerokit = GT3 wannabe look.
