One of the few cars that the production version improves on the Concept Study.
The silver one in the brochure is the default choice IMO. It must be the expensive Liquid Metal colour.
Less than 7.22, is not that great for 800.000 EUR. Or am I wrong?

Matthias Muller talked about new aim - less than 7 mins. By latest news all the performance specs are far from final. So, we should wait till sept 2013.

The latest confirmed 918 Nordschleife time is 7:14. On street tires, not slicks. I doubt they are going to be able to push the time under 7:00 on street tires but 7:11 or even 7:10 could be manageable.

I think the 918 already has bespoke tires.
This is correct. You can hear it from the project manager interview video with Chris Harris which was posted on this site. Bespoke tires with low friction coefficient to allow low fuel consumption as part of the "Performance Efficiency" philosophy of the car.
It would be possible to offer different tires for different packages and there is still some room for tire development improvements as far as I heard, the final testing hasn't been finished yet.
I find the 7:14 time to be pretty spectacular for a car with street tires but I guess we are spoiled.

As many time confirmed, 7.14 was first fast lap time attempt from standstill and will undoubtedly be lowered, even with normal flying lap - which is exactly how it's usually measured. Porsche's internal target is sub 7min.

Wonderbar:
I have a good friend who has ordered a 918, the new McLaren super car, a Berlinetta and is considering the upcoming Enzo replacement. His current daily driver is a 458 Spyder. Just amazing...
I see you live in France. What's your friend's name? King Luis XIV?
