    Maserati Quattroporte: Italian Design at its Best
    “The new Maserati Quattroporte is a high-performance sports luxury sedan that reinterprets the design features of classic Maseratis in a contemporary design language. Its style was born out of the guiding design principles of Maserati: harmony of shapes, dynamism of lines, Italian elegance. More generous in size when compared to the previous model, the new Quattroporte has a design that is at once graceful and sinuous, fashioned to bring out the sporty nature of the car.

    Like it too...but have some problems here - audi and infinity at the rear, infinity on the front...also don't believe in good quality...

    Because of our awful experience of owning 97 model Quattroporte w/Ghibli cup engine (2litre twin turbo-306 hp) 13 years ago. I know that things have been changed a lot since then but Maserati still needs time for built quality to be on par with Germans.

    An effort to refresh the car without changing the overall impression. Front lights don't blend well, rear is Audi (which is not a bad thing IMO  ), side view is OK.

    I don't think it will steal sales in the limousine sector but it will please the (few) Maserati loyals.

    Yup, something does not blend right... They should have left it as it is.

    Overall very normal, nothing special, boring gives no emotions when u look at it! They have done a car that will never sell much, not even by the maserati fans, very disappointing!! 

    Very sad they did not choose pininfarinas design, insiders says it was soooo beautiful!!

    The old one is of another league imho.

    another occasion wasted by the italians! We are a poor country which lives from the glory of the past.

    I know what u mean. Anything pre 2008 is rubbish. The GT built quality is up to German standards. Drive one and u'll change ur mind.

    The only thing i don't like about current Maseratis is the F1 gear. They should drop it and stick with Auto which is really good.

For me Maserati failed, the new QP looks, well, nice, but at the front there's something wrong with the lights and the bumper and the rear looks like an Audi. Moreover this car is just too big with its 5.26 metres length, so let's wait how the new small saloon will look like.

    My wife commented when she saw the pics last night:"is this new Infinity?" IMHO there is definitely too much Infinity influence in new QP.

    They want to expand in markets where Infiniti is strong, like North America, Asia and the Middle East ,as the traditional European markets have not been very receptive to Maserati Smiley

    Pity, the classic Italian "patrician" style of the old model is gone.

    The design of the QP was always OK, I never liked the performance vs. price tag ratio though.

    AWD, a more powerful (500+ hp) engine, this is what I would have cared about on the QP. The new design is not really a masterpiece I'm afraid.

    Did anybody notice the switchgear for the windows, lights and the engine start/stop button are all direct carryovers from the Chrysler 300?

    yep, its a chrysler with italian engines at least.

     

    I think that Marchionne is a hell of a manager, but he doesn't really understand cars that much and he thinks that the people buying cars are stupid!! well maybe the real car nuts are so few nowadays that he is right!!???

    I read somewhere that almost 70 % of the owner of the bmw 1 serie, was sure that it was a FWD!!!!!!

    Even the last Quattro was a bit awful. The transmission was harsh and inaccurate. The Skyhook suspension could never get quite sorted out between sport and comfort as it was being overworked by a less than stellar chassis.

    The F1 was horrible but the Auto is really good.
