I thought that the "F70" is huge but i am not so sure now. In these photos it is next to a punto and a giulietta:

when ferrari is going to unveil it?in september?and when should we expect some pics?Anyway,I think that the back of this is very nice:Ferrari-F70-V12-Hybrid-Concept-3.jpgFerrari-F70-V12-Hybrid-Concept-4.jpgFerrari-F70-V12-Hybrid-Concept-1.jpgFerrari-F70-V12-Hybrid-Concept-2.jpg

With at render is stunning, except the front nose, bu the rear and the side profile are spectacular. I'd love it if it ended up like that.

    Here's the CF-chassis:

Wow sounds promising. From this CF cabin we can conclude amazing beautiful doors and bad rear visibility. (rear view camera digital?)

Re: Ferrari F70 mule spied! (So much less camouflage)

They use the very best carbons - as I have understood - Toray t1000 (the most rigid) for doors, t800 in general, t800ud means unidirectional for most stressed parts and m46j - highly tensile sort of carbon fiber for underbody.

Very interesting mix!!! Its quite interesting what kind of CF 918 and p1 use???

They say that they use the same grade C/F that the F1 team uses. Smiley

The Italians get it. Like our women, we like our cars beautiful!  Not sure Woking gets that.

Re: Ferrari F70 mule spied! (So much less camouflage)

Have seen the official video about monocoque. Good materials but no revolution. Monocoque is made of 2 parts. Floor and seater section and bolted roof section.

Other strange thing- it is too narrowSmiley

Well, it is a revolution for road cars; F1 cars have been using these materials many years now. This is just the cell, that's why it seems narrow. All the bodywork will be added later.

I dont see revolution, good materials once again, but it terms of characteristics, especialy its robust is not revolutional. Koeningsegg and bugatti have 60000 nm/grad chassis.

When it gets to anything close to that level, torsional stiffness is just academic anyway.

This is a common error. Ask any engineer you like, torsional stifness is easily manipulated by stating numbers at different points of the tub. The chassis of Bugatti is not that advanced as the ones used by the F70 and the P1; not even close.

Re: Ferrari F70 mule spied! (So much less camouflage)

Realzeus, of course you have seen P1 chassis, dissasembled the car to say that its chassis is betterSmiley Sorry what materials does bugatti use for their monocoque, why do you think it is worse than one from p1?

It is known that Enzo has 26000 NM/grad chassis stiff and if ferrari officially claim that the new chassis is 20% more robust it is not very difficult to calculate that it will be less than 60000. AFAIK there is standartized method to measure chassis stiffness. And of course ferrari is the company that claims the least numbersSmiley

Once again, I don't want to ask engineers. Please, operate facts.

Re: Ferrari F70 mule spied! (So much less camouflage)

Really hard to say... Yes, for road cars that don't have such forces as racing cars these numbers are insane and possibly not useful, anyway, maybe even better handling?Smiley

Re: Ferrari F70 mule spied! (So much less camouflage)

Obviously we cannot have this discussion unless we operate from the same basis. A number for chassis rigidity (i.e. 20.000 Nm/Grad) says absolutely nothing! It's like saying that a car needs 5 sec to cover a distance. What kind of distance though? Manufacturers use these ratings as internal references and you cannot make comparissons as each one measures different things (i.e. different loaded parts).

Impressive numbers. But is it the carbone tub that's 20% lighter or the whole car?

if its the latter ie. 1100 kgs, waoh, that's simply amazing!

The tub. Then again, Rory Byrne said that same weight loss would occur on all components, insinuating a dry weight of 1000 kg (the Enzo was 1250 dry)! We have to add the weight of the  hybrid system though. I reckon 1150 kg dry and some 950 BHP of power. It will be an absolute monster!

Re: Ferrari F70 mule spied! (So much less camouflage)

Sadly we're going to have to wait for an actual owner review to get answers on how fast it is because certainly the Ferrari press cars will have some FXX components in there broken heart

Re: Ferrari F70 mule spied! (So much less camouflage)

Too bad for the distractors that customer cars achieve same numbers as the press cars then. Not to mention that the hypercars are built to order and thus there are no press cars as such, even though Ferrari will surely invite some journos to Fiorano to see the car achieve the claimed numbers. This happened with the Enzo, when the legendary Dario Benuzzi performed timed acceleration runs in front of the press. Then a customer car in the US achieved even better numbers, smashing all the records of R&T magazine.

The front end isn't exactly striking any emotional chords - but we shall see. I don't want to be too presumptive with such little being shown.

It also strikes me as a little Huayra'esque.
