looks too heavy on the back. i don't like these shots one bit
on the other hand, that turbo is stunning - if they fixed the lame sound in those it might be worth a trade.

Interesting what is this 991 standing next to GT3?

I'm sure I'm in a minority here but I really dislike what the targa roof does to the original lines of the 911.
No, you're not alone - been the same way since 1967...

Hello. Wait to see better pictures. I am sure Porsche won't let the new targa being ugly. Just think of what they did with the magnesium roof of the cab 991 ! The cab profile looks like the 991 coupe. I bet it will be the same for the targa !!!

The shots of the Targa are from a very long distance, horrible quality, and have extreme lens (i,e proportion) distortion. All of that adds up to make the car hideous in those pictures. I guarantee it will look a lot better.
I loved the old targas because they were so much better looking than the old cabs. I then loved the 997 targa because it was such a bright, airy coupe.
I just dont see the point of the new one: rather get the cab! And reintroduce a 997 style targa (call it something else maybe) for the bright and airy coupe!

I think the Targa looks awesome. The lines look great. This is the best thing to come along in a while. I think it will be a huge hit, especially if that whole top is fully automated. I am sure the weight will be up. And I am dreading to think about the cost ... I am guessing $130k base? More?
The new Targa should have a much more open feel than the 997 Targa. I think this was sorely needed. Ferrari should bring back more Targa tops. Er, in their regular line cars, not some limited über expensve edition like the Aperta.

I know a lot of 911 drivers "don't get" the last few Targa models. But this is exactly why so many of us love the cars. Even with the car closed up into a tight coupe, the cabin is bright and airy. I've looked at the new glass sunroof, and although it is nice, it does not provide the open feel of the last few Targas. I'm very much looking forward to the new model. I'm hoping it builds upon what Targa drivers love about the last couple of models.
