...or, the other way round ... I had a 981 S in my group at Salzburgring a few weeks ago and I was not able to even think about closing the gap to the 981 (981 S started first in our group, a 997.1 S second, then me with the 997.1)...so, 315 hp with all the new goodies (size, etc.) makes the 981 S a mean driving machine...( therefore, I am so much looking forward to the new cayman...)..

Yes, I had a similar experience from Spa. The 981 S is a very quick car and close to 997.2 performance.

Which proves that even the 991 Carrera (without S) Cabriolet is a pretty decent performer.
Which proves the Boxster S is not only a decent but a real performer Throw in a few tight curves and then the Boxster would (probably) be quicker.

Yeah. For half the price difference you could tune the Boxster to outperform the Carrera in all disciplines

Guys, i think that's not a fair comparison - i mean the boxster s is manual and the 911 is PDK. They both should be with PDK and the boxster would probably win.
PDK vs manual is pointless if you want accurate result, but as a comparison it makes the Boxster S even more impressive.
PDK vs PDK would be very interesting to see.

It would definitely be - there's only 35hp difference, but the boxster is like 150kg lighter or more so it should has the edge.

Wow! On that tight track I expected the Cayman to win! What the hell Porsche did to the 911?! :)
And this 911 had only the standard suspension. With PASM and other options like PDCC the 911 may gain even a bigger advantage...
There is no try. Just do.
