    Wow!!! Fantastic pictures. Monterey and Pebble are the dream of every car guy.Thank you for sharing.

    Wonderful car the Gulf Porsche, and a legend after the McQueen film. However, it didn't win Le Mans in reality. The 1970 winning car was the Salzburg Team 917 Kurzheck, red with white stripes.

    Thanks Reginos, you are correct.  This car won the 1970 Daytona 24 hour race.  I snapped the photo in a crowd, and just saw "winner 24 hours" and mistakenly concluded it was Le Mans.  I luckily took a photo of the accompanying plaque which correctly identified the car.
