    Cayenne over revving... sometimes...

    My wife has been been complaining intermittently about the Cayenne diesel over-revving.

    After finally taking it along to the OPC yesterday after a particularly "bad" experience, they asked her if her husband had been driving it.

    "Yes," she said.

    "Mmmm," said the engineer with a smile developing, "that's your problem.  It "learns" the driving style, and as he drives more aggressively than you, it takes a while for it to resume it's more sedentary ways when you get back behind the wheel..."

    I've been banned from driving her car...  I might need to get roofracks for my mountain bike...!

    Can anyone confirm that this is correct..?!

    Over-revving should not happen (how is this actually possible with Tiptronic?).

    Did I misunderstand something? yes

    If you are talking about shifting into a higher gear at higher rev figures, yes, this can happen because the ECU certainly adapts to driving style.

    It is not correct  but when you are married it is normal .

     *Porsche over-revving as far as she's concerned.  X958 on the options list.  Very expensive, as I've just found out.
