When I was at Ferrari factory on 28th of May, I saw turbo engine cams of new Maserati engines. The factory tour guide told us that Ferrari is making a new Turbo engine for Maserati.

I agree, one reason I went for the C63 AMG Coupe PP was the amazing V8 sound and the fact that it will be the last of it's kind I'm afraid. On the other hand, I listened to a E63 AMG PP with the new biturbo V8 and while it isn't as loud as my C63, it is almost the same sound. So it is possible to achieve a decent V8 sound, even with turbo chargers but it takes a little bit of innovative thinking. I hate sound engineering through speakers (like BMW does in the new M5), this is kind of pathetic.
Many people are buying Maserati because of the nice Ferrari-like sound and the lesser "here I am image" vs. Ferrari. If the V6 Biturbo engine doesn't sound nice, people will avoid this car, no matter how cheap or how good it is.

No, they don't. Check your facts. The sound symposer on the 991 is not noise coming from the speakers.

An acoustic channel picks up intake vibrations between the throttle valve and air filter and a membrane incorporated in the channel reinforces the vibrations and transmits them as an engine sound into the cabin.

A similar but not quite the same approach was the Helmholtz Resonator, used on the 997.

To the best of my knowledge Ferrari has never in its history fiddled with supercharging; nor will they now. Ferrari have gone official by stating that their preferred method of aspiration is the natural one and honestly nothing beats a great NA engine. For "environmental consciousness reasons" they are somewhat forced to go down the turbocharging path, which also makes sence from a marketing point of view (F1 connection), but they are doing their best to avoid it or at least stall it. All in all, I reckon that supercharging is out of the question. Heck, even the great advocate of s/c, MB, has dumped it.
