They have already spoiled it...Thanks to God this is the road course and straight closed sections will never be the same as the straight part of Hockenheimring. What a track it was...

Personally I enjoyed the 70"s . The cars were fantastic,the drivers were excellent , and there was still romance tied into motoracing. It was a time when men were men, and women were nervous.
Me too))) especially 917 vs 512 and can-am. Also, AU vs MB 30's (streamliners). Awesome times
Great true engineering (not todays "genious" developments like blown diffusers) and great drivers.

Given that the estimated power figure for the new turbocharged F1 engines is circa 650 HP, I doubt that LMP1 cars will have that amount of power with the same V6 1.5 litre, single blower layout. These are endurance racers after all and have to last much longer than F1 cars.

Well they cant go too much below 600hp , as GTE's are already pushing 500 bhp and LMP2's are also in that range.
Now a days, reliability is not the issue that it once was.
In fact here is a quote from an article in Formula1.com that indicates that the engines will be the same as those used in F1:
Q: (Sam Collins - Racecar Engineer) And for Le Mans? The ACO has announced they are going to accept a full Formula One powertrain, including gearbox, engine, everything from 2014 onwards for Le Mans prototypes - so is that another market you could move into and is it something you are looking to do?

No) I want to see the real competition between 2 classes, like it was till 1993) F1 has a weak manufacturers support compared to previous years, only MB and Ferrari remain, so lmp1 has got a chance) Toyota returned, Porsche will return, possibly Nissan, Jaguar, Peugeot(there were leaks that they will wait till 2014)... will see)

(Personally this makes me very happy indeed)!
Also - From what I gather: the less a car consumes (petrol) the more it will be allowed to recover from hybrid system. (Not sure I have this right).
I'll try and confirm these rumors ASAP.
