    Ferrari California successor coming next summer - report.

    Car & Driver says the next-generation model will have a retro-inspired design that is more cohesive and "decidedly easier on the eyes." It will reportedly be styled by Ferrari Centro Stile and borrow cues from the 250 GTO. The folding hardtop will carryover, but it will reportedly raise and lower much quicker than the current one.

    Power could be provided by a turbocharged V8 engine that is augmented by a kinetic energy recovery system (KERS). This could enable the model to have a combined output in excess of 600 hp (447 kW / 608 PS). Thanks to these impressive numbers, the car might accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 200 mph (322 km/h). 
     

    If everything pans out, the California successor could be introduced as soon as next summer.

    Hard to believe that the California will match / outperform the 458

    Say what you want about the current California, it is perfect for my family. So perfect that one just landed in our garage this week, my wife 40th birthday present...

    We were surprised how much sportier it is than the AMV8.

    Congratulations great car.  I had doubts about it before having the possibility to drive it extensively (I rented one for a weekend and drove it to the Alps). It is a proper Ferrari with a proper soundtrack. My wife likes the Azzurro California.

    Cali. is my wife's favorite car but I'm not rich enough to afford 2 Ferraris with our almost triple taxes.

    However, evenif I could afford a cali. next to my 458, I still would buy a 911 Carrera or a Cayman for her. Smiley
