2012 Monaco F1 Grand Prix

Guys, I'm just starting this thread from now since I am due to be away on vacation from 12 May onwards and this race weekend lasts from 24-27 May ... it's been a very long time since I missed watching the Monaco F1 GP live.

Does anyone know how to watch F1 online in the USA? There is WiFi in the resort where I am intending to stay. In any case, it's pretty unlikely I will be able to watch it. I am expecting to be in Kauai (in the Hawaiian Islands) during 24-27 May and there is a 12 hour time difference between Hawaiian Standard Time and European Central Time :(

So I really doubt I will be watching qualification and the race during the middle of the night at 2 a.m.

@easy_rider911 you can watch all F1 races on www.orf.at as they broadcast EVERY race for free without any registration on its website (-> livestream)!!

The language will be german, but I guess you'll find out quite easyly what's going on ;-)

Nope! You'll find a livestream-link on the site under the section sport, i've been watching some of the races online, as can access it whilst "family-days" ;-)

Most of the time former f1-driver alexander wurz is co-host on the show, although he was'nt very successfull @f1 he's very well prepared and notices lots of nice informations during the races which turned very often out to be crucial for the race results...

Hope it'll work out for you from the u.s., but i've been watching ski-races this winter online via the mentioned site from dubai without any problems!

Great info - I hate the US F1 coverage and might enjoy my native Austrian!

If you do want to watch on 'regular' TV in English you will need to find the SPEED channel on Cable TV. Not every cable company even carries it and those that do charge extra for the channel (not part of any normal basic subscription that I can think of)

Thanks again for the links guys. Not sure if I will be able to wake up at 0200 to watch qualification and the race on consecutive days. It could leave me feeling pretty groggy and tired the following days ... which is not what one wants to feel on vacation :)

Looking forward to seeing in what new and inventive way McLaren can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I have a funny feeling that due to accidents, one of the mid-pack teams is going to end up on the podium.

What a great performance from Mercedes, especially MS did a perfect job! It's a pitty he's got a grid-penalty, but it will be fun to watch what he can still do from it?!

I'm very pleased with MW as again he's showing far better speed than last year and SV does'nt seem to be "superman" anymore as the RedBull is not by far the best car in the field...

Hopefully we'll see some nice fight and thanks to DRS and KERS as well some overtaking.

I'm cheering for MS, LH and/ or MW

BTW Massa made Q3! ... FINALLY Smiley

Hopefully there won't be any carnage on Monaco's first corner and we see a clean race. Unfortunately I think the only overtaking we will see in Monaco is in the pitlane inspite of DRS.

Congratulations to Webber!!! flawless weekend from the aussie, I'm so happy for him, he deserves it so much. He is now tied with Vettel in points on second place, "not bad for the second driver"! Smiley fact is 6 races already and they are tied with points.

6 races and 6 different winners so far .. the only one of the top guys who hasn't won yet is Hamilton... its the best season in years! completely open and there is no one car dominating the rest giving its pilot an unfair advantage.

And Alonso is unrelenting, he is now leading the championship! who would have though with all the difficulties they have had with the Ferrari! and it seems they have closed the performance gap somewhat with their rivals, so seems Alonso can finally fight for the championship.

Great race from Webber, and what a close one it was in terms of race speed again wow! Vettel also did pretty well with a high risk strategy, some more rain there and he would have taken it at the point he was in a big lead! Interesting approach which killed Button on the same strategy.

Apart from the close race pace it was pretty boring though, but you just don't see any overtaking in Monaco.

I think this season is all about consistency, and with that in mind Alonso is holding the best cards so far. Credit due where it is due for him! 6 races and 6 winners, i think we will still see more. Hoping/wishing for Lewis, Kimi and Schumi to take a win this season also! How cool would that be, 9 different winners!!!

Some points of the progress, i think that RBR has found some more speed, still struggling with the Q though. Lotus and especially Sauber have damn fast cars, wish they would work some harder to get them some success and further mix up the Championship!

Amazing to see how much the performance differs for each team as well as driver from race to race this season. Interesting to see that Vettel did not join the pool party at Red Bull after the race. As much as I like him as a person, I would find it very surprising if he didn´t want to attend because of a 4th position:

A great season so far as there is no dominant car.

The Champion Driver will be the most consistent, adaptable and cleverest driver that can take advantage of any unusual race circumstances.

I agree - under these unusual circumstances, Alonso is a strong favourite for the driver's title.

However, the constructors title is still wide open... makes for exciting times ahead.. kiss
