Hi Easy, You must be a silver fanatic. Nothing wrong with that, it's a great colour, but...... It's also the most frequently seen Porsche colour in the UK, especially with Boxters and 996's.
When I bought my car I anguished over Silver, Seal and Black. Incidentally, this was before I discovered Rennteam, so I wasn't swayed by 'the board' (good thing or bad thing?)
I finally decided on Basalt because: (1) It's comparatively more exclusive. (2) It's more aggressive. (3) It's a colour which never becomes unfashionable. IMHO
I noticed on another thread that you intend to keep your car for a long time. I remember my first P-car was red, when it was the colour to have, now it's somewhat out of vogue in the UK. Same applies to white BTW. Silver will date sooner than black which always seems to keep it's place as understated but classy.
I just wondered if you'd ever considered Basalt and, if so, why you dismissed it from your final reckoning?

Also....................you struggle to keep it clean for more than 2 hours, it shows all scratches, stonechips and cleaning swirls, especially with roads here in the UK,and with all the Black BMW's and Mercs around here, Black is NOT very exclusive !
There is a very good reason why Silver is probably THE most popualar colour and better for re-sale. Because people obviously like it.
Give me Silver anyday over Black !!
But hey, its YOUR car and YOUR decision !

Silver is the best "color" for showing off the sculptural qualities of the car. Line, shape, volume, texture; basic principle of graphic design and art education: all can best be apprehended in grey monochrome approximately 40 reflectance. Notice all the car styling studios (especially Porsche) the clay cars are always finalized in silver. In real life, it directly reflects (and reinterprets) ambient light making it a very captivating and intriguing "color."
Also it is THE German racing color (was white and the switched to silver).
