I think they should race 911 with boxer 6cyl as they do now. It is true porsche, everything else is incoming and outcoming. But i would like to see them turbocharged. Unfortunately, current regulations do not favor porsche, and not favor they are to porsche because it is porsche))) remember fia gt 1998?) if porsche comes it wins, only unfavor regulations can stop them;) So, dont worry, if not this year, there will be next)

You know this time manthey runs without factory support, i am sure it has played the role in results. Also there was 1 porsche in top 10 against audis, merc, bmw, so mathematically porsche had less chances on win. It is unreal for 1 car to go stable all 24 h nurburgring, everything can happen. About pace of porsche, i dont know what times are now, but yesterday manthey made the fastest lap 8-32...
P.s. we should wait for new chassis 991.

Yes, I know Manthey was running without Porsche support (more or less). They have done a splendid job all things considered.
The problem is that it is not just here that the 997 based 911 is getting it's rear-end handed to it.
Look at the ACO sanctioned races. They have had to have very big BoP breaks just to be somewhat competitive. I hate seeing this. Porsche should be the benchmark. It shouldn't have to rely BoP breaks to be competitive.

Thanks, Ferdie - for the great pics from the Green Hell I've been there yesterday to sniff some 24h atmosphere It's always very nice if you know quite a number of drivers and team bosses - walking through the grid, the pits, the lounges...just enjoying some good gasoline talk and wishing good luck to the NoS buddies
My observation: the 24h become more professional from year to year - pitlane access only for those with an invitation from one of the teams, huge hospitality "buildings" (can't be called "tents" anymore).
Lot of tire damages due to carbon debris on the track, some crazy high speed crashs (most scariest ones with the SLS suffering a tire blow at DöHö and the one with the McLaren between Flugplatz and Schwedenkreuz).
Of course I also brought some pics - enjoy

Great to see that a good friend - after overcoming serious health problems - was back again and put the car on P2 in his class Quite nice fight with the Black Falcon Bimmer in the beginning of the race...

Very nice pics! I saw the Haribo Panamera many times last year during the VLN, sometimes also in the Linder Hotel garage!
Black Falcon, despite the SLS tyre blow out, very strong in the V5 and especially V6, looks like a a victory. V6 with the CSL, still a fantastic car (that's why I still have my own own, retired from the track but more than healthy!)
Cheers
Mike
