    Want to see various colour combinations in London?

    Guys, I was at Porsche Centre East London on Saturday 4th March.

    In the used car section of the showroom, they had the following:

    1) basalt black boxster with sand beige interior
    2) arctic silver 997S with black leather interior
    3) arctic silver Boxster with cocoa interior
    4) GT silver 997 with cocoa interior
    5) various cars with Carrera Classic and Sport Design wheels both with and without coloured wheel centres.

    So, if any of you in the London/SE England area want to see what the cocoa interior looks like in person or (most importantly for me), how cocoa looks in combination with arctic silver and with GT silver, then now's a good time to pay them a visit...

    They also have a dark olive green metallic 9974S cab with Porsche crests in the head restraints and also stainless steel door entry guards...

    I should add that it made me feel even more certain about my own choice of colour combination...

    How did the GT silver look compared to the Arctic?

    That old chestnut - GT v Arctic.
    Loads on here about them both, have a search.
    I had the same dilemma - went for GT.

    chris64, like MBW_UK said, there are plenty of threads here discussing colour combinations especially the GT silver vs arctic question.

    IMHO I actually prefer arctic. It is a good deal lighter than GT silver. It can have a slightly washed out look in certain kinds of sunlight.

    By contrast, GT silver can look quite dull even quite grey in poor light conditions.

    They are both lovely colours no doubt. I think if I lived in a country with a lot more sunshine, I might be tempted to get GT silver but sunshine in London is not that common. It's so often dull and grey that arctic really will maximise the weather conditions. GT will look good only on those rare days when it's really bright and sunny.

    Both colours look good at night under streetlights etc. If anything I preferred arctic at night. I have passed the Porsche dealer at night especially to see how the colours look under night conditions and under the spotlights inside the dealership. I preferred arctic.

    Obviously arctic costs Pounds543 whereas GT silver costs Pounds1522. Around an extra Pounds1000 which is a relevant factor to most people on a budget. However arctic is much less rare than GT silver.

    Both seem quite easy to keep clean with arctic more so.

    I think the only other relevant factor might be if you plan to choose XRR Carrera Sport wheels. These always come painted in GT silver so they might look slightly odd if you had arctic silver.

    Some people say that black goes better with arctic and cocoa goes better with GT silver. I saw the various combinations on Saturday and I have to say I couldn't see this. It seemed to me that cocoa went beautifully with both arctic and GT silver as did black.

    I think another very minor factor you might notice is that the flakiness of the GT silver paint is more apparent i.e. the visible 'metallic-ness' of the paint is more obvious.

    I have some photos which I took on Saturday and ones which I took previously. I also have some others. I will try to post as many arctic and GT silver photos as I can.
