I was at the Geneva introduction of the new Cayenne in 2010 and the featured Cayenne was a dark blue metallic Turbo, with either a grey or umber/light tartufo interior. A Cayenne Turbo is certainly as sporty as a GTS. Keep an open view, keep measuring your gut feeling, then make your final cut yourself. In any event, you will have a fabulous car.

Not really. That's a particularly bad picture of him. I spotted him wandering around the Waterfront in Cape Town about a year ago and he looked a lot more sprightly in the flesh.

Hi all, haven't been on RT for awhile! I am in the process of ordering a GTS as we are going to have a second child later in the year and a SUV is just more convenient than our 7 series. I don't need turbo like acceleration in our new baby car, and I actually like the idea of a lowered SUV which this is. This will be my first Cayenne although I have had a couple of X3s and X5M so I think I know what to expect!
Does anyone have a picture of Umber/Light Tartufo two-tone leather? Thanks!

if you are going to have a newborn, light tartufo is not your colour man :) I have two kids, they're 3 and 5. now I'm ordering a light interior - Espresso/Cognac. Black with a colored stitching is probably the best for a newborn and for it to still look sporty ;) my 2 cents

Haha that is a fair comment, which is why I want to see a picture. On the configurator it doesn't look that light, and I like the brownness of that combo. I have a 4 year old and along with the new born, its not going to be fun keeping clean. Having said that, we had bamboo beige interior on the X5M when my son was 2 and I managed to keep the leather relatively clean. It just meant cleaning it every few days!

Trust me, before the kids are 11 or 12, forget about light interiors. My two kids are 8 and 11 and they were (and are to some point) like pigs inside the car. You really should avoid light interiors with kids.

RC, I will teach my kids german discipline :) they are generally ok, except for feet on the backs of the front seats. And imagine that in the winter!! Cayenne should have enough space for them not to be able to hit the front seats.. and that coupled with discipline ... should be ok :) another thing - my specs are solidified - nothing I can do now.
Canadian dealership doesn't know anything about European delivery btw. I bought my own tickets after waiting for 2 months for them to schedule...

For us it is a GTS, but for my wife (and this car is for her) it is a family SUV. Of course the only reason we are going with GTS over the S is because of me! To avoid her finding out that this is a "sporty special" SUV, I best leave funky sporty combos for my own Porsches and other sports cars. :)

I drove a Cayenne GTS today and also Cayenne Diesel. The GTS looks great with flared wheel arches in the carmine red....the car did not have PDCC though...was a fun car to drive...I forgot for most of the drive that the car does not have PDK ....(dopey me) as I could not figure out why the tranny would not drop down exactly as I wanted it too...and quite frankly the brakes could be a little better...having said that the car was a lot of fun to drive with nice steering and ride and had a good sound as well. the diesel is truly a utility vehicle it was faster than I thought it would be but I certainly would not classify it as "fun"....they have done a good job with the vehicle overall though but the idea of the car needing the blue liquid (a urea) derivative in a separate tank in the back to make sure the car meets the emissions and if you dont fill it when you are supposed to wont let you drive the car is a little much ....I understand what they have done wihich produce a vehicle that doenst move the game on at all but meets "legal parameters"....
got to say I really liked the GTS though....
