Thanks to every rennteamer !! Its been a pleasure sharing this great day, it is always a very exciting moment when you enter the dealer, open the door and start walking to check the baby after some months of waiting !!!
We where quite excited but at the same time nervious, regarding the wheels painted (its the first time we specced a car with painted wheels)
May be the front suspension is higher than normal !! Will see how it looks in the road, once deliered !
Also, we talked to our dealer to retrofit the front lip ( the one that comes stock when ordering the -20mm), I need to send them pics of that (got some pics from a user of rennlist, retrofiting this part !!, its like a plug and play fix....i hope....at the end of the day is just a piece of plastic !!)
John ! Thanks for your comments ! I posted the 997 GTS for two reasons !! Because I loved it how it looked !!!
And also because besides our 991 you can see a brand new 997 Carrera 4 GTS having a sticker price of about 40.000eur more than our 991 Carrera !!.....and STILL our dealer is not planning to give a good discount to let her go !!....Looking to the GTS black wheels, it would have been also a very good idea ordering the 991 with black wheels !!! It suit the car PERFECTLY !!!!
Tomorrow GETTING DELIVERY !!!!!!!!!!!
CANT WAIT !!! And tomorrow Ipad 3 official launch !!!!

Oh the guy in his 82 years old, taking delivery of his red 991S yesterday, I am still blown away with that image in my head !!! Can any person with that age rock any better than that ??? I was about to congratulate him, but may be it was too excessive !
.....He could barely walk, and each step was facing to the ground.....like I said I am still blown away and amazed with this guy !!! Bravo for him !!!!

Would that be a consignment vehicle? Do you think it will very quietly be sold at a realistic price, or removed to a non-approved dealer at a later stage..?

He had a carbon and alloy Zimmer Frame made by Porsche Exclusive for him.

TODAY WE GOT DELIVERY !!!! LET ME SAY ONE WORD......

Just camed right now home (its 22.30h) and we had delivery at 19.00h......incredible the 991. Its a different new level of everything !!!
its one of the best if not THE best 911 ever and most beautiful I have ever seen, since the day I ws borned and started to know the meaning and the pronunciation of Porsche 911 !!!!
I have done LOTS of pics and Go pro video !!!
let me say that PSE is just THE BEST PART !!! It growls, it shouts, it is deep!! PSE in the 997 is just 50% quieter !!!
Having a deep look in the dealer, on the roads and at the garage, its a BEAUTY !!! it reminds me a lot to a small and wide carrera GT.....its looks makes the 991 easily differ from the 997 !
The rims !!!! Painted makes the 991 even much more sportier !!! All employees from the dealer said various times, its by far the most beautiful 991 they have seen, and in Cape Town they saw nearly each colour available !!! If you are having a dilemma painting the wheels, JUST DO IT !!! No regrets !!!
I need to post some pics from today !! What a great day !!!!
Also !!! There is no need whatsoever to order the sport seats, not even the natural leather !!! Our 991 comes with basic interior, just the sport steering wheel, and its an AMAZING interior...standard seats are GREAT !!!!

ohh, one little hint from the dealer (and its from a good good source), the 991 GT3 will be equipped with PDK !! And there is no official news or anything similar about a 4cylinder engine....but in a short period of time a new 911 100% electric !!!......lets see what all ends up !!!

Please tell about your impressions of the new steering system compared to your previous 997.2. It will be interesting to hear first hand from an owner/user. Did you specify Power Steering Plus?

Guys, some pics after the first day owning the baby !!!!!!!!!!!!
Some info, before the pics of day one !!!!
Our 991 is equipped with black A1 colour (NON-METALLIC), its an AMAZING colour !!! BUT !!! Its too dangerous, I can see myself cleaning the baby with the precision and pressure of a robot to not make any swirls.
We also ordered the electric steering wheel system !!!!..... I have to say, I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!.....We've had many 997's (can't remember the number, but at least 4 997's, mk1 and one mk2 with PDK) and I cannot see myself remembering just anything of any previous 911 we've had. Its just a complete new step forward. Seriously, the 991 is AS SPORTY OR EVEN MORE THAN THE 997, the speed in curves is just very dangerous !!!, you can get confident and enter at high speeds without knowing the consequences, because the 991 is very capable !
Right now it only has 67 kms in speedometer. This weekend will get to drive much more.
PSE IS JUST THE BEST THING OF THE 991. SERIOUSLY, I DIDNT THOUGHT A SPORT EXHAUST FROM PORSCHE WAS GOING TO SOUND SO GOOD !! In tunnels, on the roads, driving behind even with the windows closed following the 991, THE SOUND IS A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Basically the first 1.000kms will be for breakin in the engine, not passing more than 3.500rpm. And still the sound is just GREAT !!!!!!!!!
The sport steering wheel is such a VITAL option, it feels much much better than any 997 standard steering wheel, the paddle shifts are also AMAZING, quite hard clicking them, I really love it !!
The dash-board is standard, no leather option whatsoever. It looks GREAT !!! IMO no need to go for full option. The same goes for sport seats !!! Standard seats are ABSOLUTELY GREAT !!!!
I remember lots of rennteamers including myself, saying the average person that checks the 991 will not know if its another 911 or the new 991.............that is a wrong statement !!!!!!!!!!! .....Lots of people turn their heads to see what is that......although the PSE also has to help in this department !!!.
Here are some pics of today / yesterday with the Nikon D5100 (some quick shots in the dealer) and also some shots with the GO PRO HERO 2. I LOVE THIS CAMERA !!! Have done also some quick 1080p videos !!!! LOVE IT !
