The swoop and scoop on the side seems awkward to me, at first glance. Inelegant and somewhat forced. But maybe it will grow on me.
The overall shape is beautiful and the interior is pure Ferrari. Very nice.

It is the Ferrari equivalent to a Chris Bangle BMW. Different but pretentious. I thought we'd seen the worst in design with the FF.
Now that Ferrari are catching up in terms of reliability and technology they are destroying their previously elegant and classic shapes.

HOLY SHIT!!!
I've never been a huge fan of Ferraris, but this thing is just.... This is one of the best things I ever saw!! Mamma mia!!!!!

I am a dyed-in-the wool Porsche man. I avoid commenting on Ferrari', but....
This car is full of drama. The design of the front and back are very nice indeed (as expected from a Ferrari).
I am not too sure about the profile. It 's a little strange, but certainly not anything close to approaching ugly.
In general, the car is very nice indeed.( I almost get a nostalgic vibe of the front engined Ferrari's of the 60s)
Beautifully color coded and Ferrari have made sure that none of their designers have steered any where near a used parts bin after a liquid lunch (some lessons to be learned from Zuffenhausen)
It is a car that dreams are made of. Today's young boys will grow up remembering this car.
Well done Ferrari.

I've always been a fan of front-engined 2 seater Ferraris but I'm be very disappointed with this car.
The general stance follows the classic front-engined 2 seater Ferrari theme, which is a good thing, but the detailing is not very Italian IMO. The whole front (grille, side-winglets/spoiler, lights) could have come from a Korean concept car, the rear is like a sci-fi comic book design and there is something not right about the proportions of the profile and this deficiency is accentuated further by the unfortunate attempt at "flame surfacing".
This design has made the 599 GTB even more of a classic. Is Pininfarina still responsible for Ferrari design
"Form follows function"
Pininfarina is still responsible but more so are the aerodynamicists! Personally I love the purposeful, aggressive looks of the new model. The F12 makes the 599 look aged and nostalgic. Mind you, the 599 is still a beatiful car, but that's the problem. It's beatiful, not stunning any more!

I said it once and I'll say it again. The approach to the rear diffuser looks like the Bhorat mankini
LOL , true .
The proportions and overall lines are damn near perfect, I like it, but a few design details could've been cleaner IMO. More subtle side streak and more horizontal back. as well as a less smiley front. To quote my friend Joost: "all in all, I wouldn't mind owning one"

California meets 599 meets FF ...
It's striking but doesn't seem particularly fresh or new ...
The grinning face reminds me of an Aston Martin Vanquish ....

That was my exact same thought when I discovered this car. It is somewhat great to see that Ferrari and Lamborghini have returned to their "poster idol" status of the 80ies.
The car itself is interesting, a typical Ferrari with a twist on all accounts. Every prominent Ferrari of the last few decades has had a striking and individual design element that has not been seen on any other car, be it another Ferrari or different brand. The judgement of proportions, three-dimensional quality of the surfaces and details remain to be evalued in reality.
Overall, it seems in photos that if you substituted a cross-hair rectangular grill in front and rounded trapezoidal headlight clusters , it could pass for the coming SRT Viper .
But that's the prob with all these front -engined, long hood/cab rearward sports cars, be they Corvettes, Vipers or recent V12 Ferraris, they all have basically the same silhouette and stance.
