This morning I saw a 991 parked outside my apartment building. It belongs to one of my neighbours. My wife had seen the same car the day before and she spotted instantly that it was a 991. She told me about it yesterday evening.
Is this one of the first customer 991s on the road? I don't know ...

I am interested in your impressions from your first real-life viewing of the car.

Hi Ziggy, actually, it wasn't my first real life viewing. I saw numerous 991s in South Africa during December last year
I really like it

I like it most of the times I see it in live driving, except when I saw it from behind parked in an underground parking between two other cars . I was shocked how high the back is now ( and the wings around the back wheels were nearly at the hight of the windows of the cars next to it. It did not look nice. The line across the back made it probably look even higher then what it actually is.
But otherwise, specially from the side, it looks goergous.

gotta be one of the last to actually see a 991. local dealer had a basalt/tan -s on the lot, certainly no stripper @ 122k...mea culpa as i have not been a 991 fan based on the numerous pics. seeing one in the flesh quickly changed all that for me....all my percieved awkwardness of many details vanished....i actually think the front running lights look exceptional, make the 997 look , well old. same with the rear tail lights. really didnt like the interior console however again it looked like it should have been this way on the 997. ... mirrors on the doors , really just completes the overall teriffic look of this car.....can't see the engine , im over that as well...i never doubted the performance capabilities and i think given a couple of years they will sort out the electric steering and the few other not spot on driving characteristics....
guess im really just wondering at what point i can order a turbo , im thinking mexico blue
