    kiss Totally awesome looking.

Its quite the big, fast machine and probably a better DB9 type coupe than Aston could hope to make. If only it was as elegeant looking as a Aston. Im not too overwhelmed by the M6 side optics. It might look best in convertible form and in black.

    Re: BMW M6 (F12 / F13) - official

I don't know, it somehow leaves me in cold, compared to the previous one, at least, which looked more raw...

OMG I love it! The front is VERY sexy, almost feminine to me. That little tail in the outer intakes! Or the kidney grilles cool

The best GT-coupe IMO. Attractive style, impeccable BMW engineering and quality and global brand support. Not to mention the reasonable price compared to the more illustrious brands.

Judging from the 640i, the platform is not for keen drivers in the 911 sense, though.

Not at all. You can't have it all with modern age BMWs. Either are they beautiful to look at, but quite uninspiring to drive (5er, 6er), or very capable in driving but dull, or even grotesque, looking (1er, 3er). Smiley

Long gone those years of leadership in everything one would expect from the ''ultimate driving machine''. These latest product line, started with the F01 is nothing but a shadow of an old BMW, the one I used to crave about and admire everyday! Smiley

If I wanted a fast 2 door coupe GT, I wouldn't think twice.

I also wonder for how much longer Porsche  will continue to ignore their own potential in this car segment cheeky

Porsche planned a Coupe based on the Panamera but since the current platform won't be used for the next generation, all plans for a Coupe have been postponed to the next generation platform. So I wouldn't expect a Coupe from Porsche before 2015, earliest.

Yes, indeed...this is a market segment Porsche seems to loose to the competition like BMW, Mercedes, Maserati and Aston Martin but hopefull not for long.

I would much rather see Porsche filling up that ''Ferrari 458-competitor-void'' than waste time on things like this which contradicts their sport heritage. All these front engined GTs are usually put against the 911s all the time and get spanked in every category on and on again.

Well...let me see: What is more important for Porsche? High volume production numbers or selling 500 cars per year ? Hmm, I don't know... Smiley Smiley

The Ferrari 458 "competitor" will come, it is just a matter of time. It will very likely be based on the future Gallardo/R8 platform.

I think the two categories are not mutually exclusive. They will appeal to different buyers or some will choose to have both. A front engined GT can be a successor to the fabulous 928 and therefore well within the Porsche ethos.

As to the 911,  even the 991 will be too "raw" for some potential buyers who would prefer to sacrifice some sportiness (but not much) for long distance comfort and more cosseting. Having seen what Porsche achieved with the Panamera, a 2 door coupe would be a superb Porsche.

That hipothetic Porsche GT won't serve to increase the sales as is gonna target similar group as the 911.

The Ferrari 458 "competitor" will come, it is just a matter of time. It will very likely be based on the future Gallardo/R8 platform.

That was the initial assumption, which had been  declined recently and now the word (latest info from George Karcher) is actually that the R8 mk.3 will be based on Porsche's MSQ platform (961?) as the current R8 replacement is already in late stages of its design. Porsche have won the rights for all future VW sport platforms and big luxury sedans.

As usual a good post Reginos.

A true 928 successor (not some rushed 2 door panny knockoff) would do the spanking, not only of the 911 but of the competition also, as it did before. It is a gaping hole in the Porsche line-up and many thousands of units lost every year to competitors in a very high margin niche. The old line about protecting 911 sales has been shattered with the Cayenne first and now the Panamera. Sales are sales, profit is profit.

This is correct and exactly what I meant, although I re-read my post and I understand that there might have been some confusion when I mentioned the next Gallardo/R8 platform. All these cars will be based on the Porsche platform.

As to the Panamera Coupe (which could be considered a 928 successor): I agree, a rushed Panamera Coupe knock-off, may not have been the answer. The next generation Panamera/Bentley GT/A8 platform is also prepared for a Coupe version as far as I heard. Unless of course they decide to use a different platform, which wouldn't make sense though. A smaller Panamera is expected too but if Porsche builds a coupe, it will be based on the next generaration Panamera and not on a smaller sedan from Porsche.

Finally the M6 ( any 6 for that matter ) looks properly good.  Also I can't help but love that steering wheel.

    Re: BMW M6 (F12 / F13) - official

Absolutely right. Have to say that, certainly in a lot of aspects, BMW has made a leap forward. Especially glad that some of the typical key elements of a proper BMW are reappearing.

    Re: BMW M6 (F12 / F13) - official

That car is a stunner. Just gorgeous! Inside as outside! Technical data sounds great, too!

First time ever BMW is delivering black kidney cross bars!

    Re: BMW M6 (F12 / F13) - official

    German prices:

    M6 Cabrio 131.000€

    M6 Coupe 123.600€

M6 Coupe with full options(305km/h limiter included) is around 139K €. Optional M Ceramic brakes will be available in late summer for around 10K €.

    Re: BMW M6 (F12 / F13) - official

See a new 640dm Coupe at my local dealership and it was stunning. To call it a facelift is an absolute understatement, its a different beast altogether.

What I love is the steering wheel - beautiful.  One of the nicest solutions for an airbag steering wheel IMHO

Your provocation is not on place. That forum dont need promotion. All M owners are already there & that is specialized forum for just one car maker :P If you find it as ad, than delete post.
