Singer Porsche review on Top Gear website

I am totally, totally infatuated with this car. It is like Bardot, Hepburn or Kelly being re-incarnated but made even a little better than they already were...

One, day, if and when I can afford it (GBP160,000, and another 50% import duty) - and that's if you could somehow get SA Customs to allow an LHD into the country - I WILL have one. I know of not a single car I would rather have for the money.

I'm not a fan of classics because of all their shortcomings in sportiveness and effectiveness relative to today's standards, their quirks, etc, etc.... Singer's are the exception.

I would kill for a Singer, hardcore-spec, Signal-gelb, 4.0, ... I'd be seriously tempted to give up a 4.0 RS for such a thing!

Yes indeed, I have ordered a Singer and it will be delivered this summer. Chassis number 4 (or 5 can't remember).

I drove the grey car two weeks ago in LA, met Rob Dickinson, top man, and I am so excited to be part of this project.

The car will be racing white, with decals and interior between red and orange, not sure yet. The level of personalisation is insane.

What a car! It drives fabulously, you have that old car feeling with a light front end but built quality is amazing, the car is light and power delivery is super sweet!

Final specs will be 380 hp for approx 1200 kgs.

Is it a real Porsche? No, it's even better!

More to come as soon as possible, sorry, I am super busy these days.

PS: The car will get a lot of coverage when it will be ready, EVO and Flat 6 magazines have asked to test drive it, so expect to read their opinions too. Possible a TV show on Top Gear.

Definitely hardcore! Except the big engine which I advised against by Rob himself, as its peak power is delivered high in the revs and actually not that useable on roads.

Appart from that, it's all racing, center fuel cap, oil cap on the rear wing, nickel chrome hinges everywhere, rool bar, adjustable Ohlins suspension, etc. etc.

I did go however for comfort options like sunroof, aircon and radio as I will mainly use the car on the road.

I can't wait! I promise to keep you guys updated asap.

It's going to be amazing to have an actual owners opinion on such an amazing car. It'll be interesting to read the impressions of the magazine and media versus what the person that lives with the car has to say. Thanks for sharing Futch, I can't wait.

Amazing car - but sunroof

Yes I love sunroofs on non trackday Porsches (except that hideous new sunroof on the 991).

The flush design is very nice and on a sunny day, it's nice to hear the Flat 6 sing! Smiley

This is a picture I took with phone when I was at Singer's early January. I got to drive the car briefly with Rob just before its delivery to its lucky owner. I am the next one! I can't wait.

It really is a spectacular machine!
