    Unknown car spotted

    Hey guys,

    Today, driving from Utrecht to Rotterdam, I was overtaken by a car so fast that I had hardly time to see it.
    It was white, had four round rear lights, with big black outlets under the lights, with a horizontal fin in the outlets.

    I thought it might have been the Lexus supersports car, but the lights don't resemble it at all.

    Anybody have an idea what it might have been? It was dark, and busy traffic, so I couldn't get a bette rloo, and I am pretty curious...

    Were all four lights the same size and height?

    Don't think it was a Corvette... I looked for new corvette pictures on google, and they all showed 4 round rear lights, but no outlets below the lights.

    I'm not sure anymore actually. They must have been more or less the same size, maybe the ineer ones were slightly smaller.

    I've asked a number of collegues today, but nobody seems to know. Now I'm leaning towards the idea that it might have been a tuning kit for a 370z or so... the search goes on! I can not stand the idea of not knowing :P

    Four round tailights? Not many cars with Four rounds anymore with black outlets near/under the lights. The first one that comes to mind is the Scuderia.

    Then the GT-R?

    If you were in Germany near the Ring I would say maybe you ran across an earlier stage development model of the 2014 Vette, which would nearly fit your description to a "T".

     

    Perhaps if you could explain the note of the engine? V8 roar and rumble, screamer like a V10...

    LOL, not close to the 'ring sadly.

    The saleen comes closest, in a way that the lights are four round lights and it has air outlets under the lights with a little horizontal slat in them. However, the black outlets were way bigger than the lights, and more hexagonally shaped. Also, it wasn't as extremely low and wide as the Saleen. The styling curves were very modern, more sharpish looking than the Saleen.

    The car's body was white. In between the tail lights, it was white as well, If I recall correctly, all the way to the lower end of the bumper. The air outlets were below the lights, but not in the space between them. The car was "normal" european size, not as big as the GT-R, and not extremely low or wide... still remains a mystery to me!

    He said it wasn't supercar proportions, more like a normal car. I still have no idea what it could be but I'm getting curious too.

    Crikey - never heard of that before, but 'Road Yacht'?? Think they need to work on the name a bit. That, and the panel gaps..

    Agree. Although probably "hand made" the tolerances in the panel gaps and the inconsistency between them is unacceptable by today's standards and will get universal appall by the clients in the price class they have put this car in.

    Sorry, totally forgot about this thread, even though I keep looking around me every time I step in my car :P

    Those artega cars look awesome, never heard of them before. However, that wasn't it. :-(

    Yes, Joost said in the link I posted that he's fairly confident that's the car he saw - if only from the briefest of moments. With a super and turbo charged 1,100hp(!) motor,  it's no surprise he only caught a fleeting glance.
