I like the new Cayenne because the interior looks very nice, performance is great and the exterior doesn't really attract attention. This combo is really interesting. The Panamera started to grow on me and I like it but I would only by it in Turbo or Turbo S flavor and this makes it more expensive thant the Cayenne.

I always liked the new Cayenne but I went for the X5 M instead because while the performance is the same, the money I had to put on the table for the X5 M is ridiculously less than the money I needed for the Cayenne. It was a no-brainer.

Now that the powerkit is available and the Turbo S may be presented next year, things got interesting again.

The Panamera really grew on me, indeed but this car still isn't the right car for my neighborhood. I just hope that Porsche succeeds in implementing the same visual size reduction they did with the Cayenne.

I was a bit worried about people's perception driving a big SUV these days, but so far only positive experiences. Have my Cayenne S now for two and a half months and really like it. I need the space because we got twin girls in September and the Twin Bugaboo stroler takes up pretty much all the luggage space if I don't take it apart.

So it's a great daily driver, but when I sit behind the wheel it still feels like driving a Porsche. I still miss the 993 because the Cayenne is quite wide and I don't enjoy driving the narrow twisties as I did with the 993. But it's something I can live with for the next few years. As soon as the girls are out of the stroler I will get a 911 (997 or 991) again so we can take daytrips with the four of us.

Don't be so sure about the 911 "again"...kids love the 911 in the beginning but then... Smiley

Of course a Cayenne can't replace a 911 but it still provides the driver with a Porsche-like drive feel.

I switched my priorities towards the kids and the family when it comes to cars. I can't say I'm very happy about this but at least I will drive a Cayenne Turbo (S) and not a BMW 5series or Audi A6 station wagon. Smiley

A GT Coupe with AWD would have been an interesting choice for me but since Porsche doesn't offer one yet... Smiley

No the reason why the Cayenne is are selling well is brand snobbery. Economically the car does not make any sense.

This statement makes no logical sense coming from a Ferrari owner. I can see it from a Honda owner. Smiley

Replace the word "Cayenne" with Ferrari in the sentence and now you have a correct statement. Smiley

BTW Cayenne Turbo is the best SUV I've owned, and it will eventually be replaced by another Cayenne Turbo. Smiley

You have a point, I'll probably will rent a 911 for the weekend at some point to see if the girls like it in the back.
