    Cayenne Desert Camp

    Porsche organized a Desert Camp. Invitees were given taken through an obstacle session with an instructor to demonstrate the capabilities of the Cayenne. This was followed by a dune bashing session. This is a serious off-road performer (although its so expensive that most owners like me wouldnt dare take their own Cayenne in the desert). For the event, Porsche provided their own vehicles.

    A nervous driver let go off the gas as he was reaching the top of the obstacle (which most first-time off-roaders do), leading to his vehicle being stuck from underneath (with all four wheels spinning freely). He had to be pulled out.

    This is my weekend desert ride (the white wrangler). This picture is taken on top of a dune. As you can see in the background, we are quite high above ground level. According to my Garmin gps, the height level 0.8 mile above ground level.

    It was my best weekend. We got some intermittent rain while in the desert. We kept going deeper & deeper relying on our Garmin to bring us back to the highway. The rain made the sand harder. We ended up going places we otherwise didnt think were possible.
