Re: IAA 2011 visit - picture thread

Thank you for the pictures LARS. Thank you for all the effort and time you put into this thread Smiley

I think that matte-color Aventador is the best looking car of the show. 680.000 Euro price tag (in Turkey) is massive though

The white Quattro concept looks FANTASTIC

I hope Audi build this car and get it dynamically right because they'll be on a huge success with it. It could be the car to win me over from Porsche.

We are usually in agreement reginos, but on this one we are far apart.

    Great, great thread.

    Thanks for your effort, Lars.

Re: IAA 2011 visit - picture thread

This one probably deserves a new thread all on it's own (I tried to cut and paste but gave up!) to discuss the merits of whether it really is going to "halve the orders for the new entry-lvel 991's, and take a big chunk of Boxter/Cayman money too" like I've heard some publications say...

The interior is also amazing, the marque has serious cache and the price is right, and whilst I'll stick with my Porsche love affair, they might have a point...

Re: IAA 2011 visit - picture thread

I have high hopes for the little Jag, too. I'm having a little trouble understanding the design from these few pictures -- but that's often a good thing. Designs that look too good at first sometimes do so because they're derivative. Innovative and lasting design somes jars us on first view just because it's truly different. Hope that's the case here.

And thanks to Lars! Great tour of the show.

I like it a lot too...

After 15 years porsche, i'm still veery happy with my R8 after 11K.

So i thinck the concept quattro looks gorgeous but it still isn't a true sportscar. IMO it's an M3 killer.

My thoughts as well. What the pictures don´t reveal, the car looks comparatively small but quite convincing in reality. I agree about the above comments that Jaguar´s surfaces are not as taut as the competitors´ but it is almost a trademark of current Jaguars.

On a sidenote, I loved the interior on the current Jaguar limousines. Just as the French products, they aim to find a position that is different from the German brands.

Re: IAA 2011 visit - picture thread

By the way, I wouldn´t be surprised if the Jaguar´s overall layout is very close to the production version already. The overall exterior looked very complete already, altering the front and sideskirts or mirrors on the way.

Re: IAA 2011 visit - picture thread

Yes, great pics Lars... Even though I'm snapping away too, yours are fantastic.

BTW, anyone know why McLaren is not here? Brought a friend from Canada here, who wanted dearly to see the McLaren, and they seem to have stayed in the UK... ???

I agree. The interior of the XJ is really special.

IIRC, McLaren always shunned the shows back in the days of the F1 road car.

Not such a bad idea when they were only building about 100 cars total anyway.
