The SLS AMG Roadster has less wow factor than the gull wing door version IMO.
VW Beetle is ugly too ...
The 991 in blue looks absolutely stunning ... simply gorgeous!
I like the Maserati SUV ... very nice for a SUV.
I really like the Jaguar C-X 6 ... looks very attractive.
Easy: The SLS Roadster looks IMO very very good in real. It looks lighter and more flat than the gullwing
The Beetle looks actually quit qute and not so bad in real
The 991 - yes the 991 is a stunner. Much much better the more I see it. The car is indeed very beautiful!!!
The Maser SUV was for me just hideous and the comments of people around me was going in the same direction - no one, really no one was giving good comments
The Jag C-X6 was actually my second favorite car. I hope they bring it up in real - looks very very good!
Matt C:
Thanks very much Lars - some really stunning cars.
Just why, oh why, didn't you start your post with the new 991
Actually I thought about, but I wanted to give you the impression I had while walking through the IAA. All the cars who catched my attention I took a picture. There are many many "normal" cars around. And even "normal" sport cars which we have seen often before. So I thought I give a wild collection of various cars in the exhibition walk perspective. Further on - the 991 I did a bit more detailed
intouch1:
great report...thanks.
all the tuners are hideous.....
Yep - not even one tuning cars which I would say it is worth the go for. Nevertheless, the tuner Hall is one of the most interesting to see.
I conclude that the manufactures learned how to sell already well equipped and good looking cars, the tuning market just went smaller. Further on - the tuner have to get crazy to stand out and this craziness is close to hideous!
Conny997:
@ Lars
Thank you so much for the pics and your efforts
I wonder why they almost didn't show the BMW 6 as it was already on their website and configurator.
Any news on Panamera?
Thx in advance.
Lots of tuning Panamera - but, didnt catch my attention to shoot a picutre!

No pics of the 458 spider?
Nope - wasnt there! I checked everywhere
... HOWLY COW.... I have to go there tomorrow again
Really - I checked for it and didnt see it. Propably the roof was closed or the car was in the rear area
Can you take a side profile picture with the roof up if possible? I'm looking everywhere for such a picture but without luck

993 c2
991
Audi Quattro Concept
SLS Roadster
Mercedes G class
Aventador
Everything else, especially the tuned cars, not really my thing.
Thanks a lot for your effort, Lars...and for the heads-up via SMS.
Great thread.
Btw: I agree, the tuned models seem to be hideous. Maybe tuners should concentrate a little bit more on classy optical enhancements (it is possible !), interiors and of course technical enhancements like chassis and engine.

Lars, did you also miss the Alfa Romeo stand?
Well...apparently the cars weren't that interesting.
I'm even surprised Alfa Romeo still exists, same with Lancia.

From the floor (as opposed to publicity) pictures the 458 Spyder looks very toy-like. No dynamism and a confused and busy rear end design. Where have all the Pininfarina designers gone?
The Aventador makes a real supercar statement

Carlos from Spain:
Lars! thank you! great shot collection, especially the detail shots of the 991
The Lambo is indeed very nice evolution in their design. The Maser SUV is hideous and the tuner versions
couldn't have said it better myself. agree with every word.
Thanks Lars
