RC, can you give us any additional comment?

I'm just trying to work out how an automotive journalist could write an article like that without realising that a new "turbocharged  GT3" is in fact the direct successor of the GT2, regardless of whatever the model may end up being called?   Smiley

That's true Smiley If this "GT3RS"  will then only cost 40k more than the regular GT3 (as discussed in the "rumors") it would be a reasonably price car Smiley

    Milanno:

To be honest, RC`s posts are more reliable than any magazine smiley I need his confirmation kiss

Thank you but I have to rely often on rumors too, so don't bet on my information accuracy. Smiley

Right now, there comes a lot of confusing information regarding the upcoming GT3 RS and a possible GT2. A couple of months ago, the GT2 was a no-go (performance too close to 991 Turbo S). Now the rumors started again (mainly in the press though), maybe because of the side air inlets in the GT3 RS mules. Regarding these mules: I have no confirmation yet that the side air intakes will make it to the final car. All I know is that the GT3 RS will use the wider body of the Turbo/S models. So maybe, to save money, Porsche used the Turbo bodies for prototype testing. One source however told me, that the GT3 RS gets the side air intakes but they will look slightly different on the RS.

So many confusing information and to be frank, right now I am very pre-occupied with my new family ride and...the family. Porsche also has a lot of headache with the new GT3 right now, so I try to leave my sources alone until the storm is over. Smiley

The rumored price tag for a "naked" car was always around 180k EUR.  This is over 40k EUR more than the GT3 and I don't really think this is a reasonably price car (actually the GT3 is a reasonably price car, not so much the Carrera S in my opinion, which can easily overtake the GT3 with some options).

Let me break it down for you: The new GT3 RS is rumored to use the GT3 engine and PDK with some different setups. The chassis will be different (due to the lack of AWS...maybe) but considering the cost of AWS, I don't think the RS chassis will be more expensive than the GT3 chassis. Yes, the wider body costs more, the rear wing costs more, the additional aerodynamics front  costs more, the (magnesium?) roof costs more and maybe a few lighter (body) parts here and there but overall, I think that the new RS will actually have a higher gain margin than the GT3. Just a guess though.

It seems that the original expectation discussed on Rennteam for quite some time was correct: no (!) new models in Geneva... No GT2, no GT3RS, no turbo targa Smiley

So when we will see the 991 GT3 RS and Targa Turbo? Which one will come first?

    Beijing Motorshow - 20/04 ?

    Moscow Motorshow - 27/08 ?

    Paris Motorshow - 02/10 ?

In my humble opinion....when Porsche find and solve the problem of self-combustion.

I was a little disappointed by the lack of information on the Porsche 991 GT3 RS at the Geneva Motor Show

Wow. "Subtle" is the wrong word for it, but I love how they managed to give it a badass look, without taking refuge to wart foglights, useless design creases or over the top wings...
It's basically all the things you love about the standard carrera, but with the raw power of a turbo... sounds like a fantastic car to me! Smiley

After next year's facelift, you might have your wish granted by Porsche itself (Carrera and Carrera S with turbo motors, RWD, and 7spd Manual at much lower price than Ruf).

Yes, they look very nice. Especially when switched on with the four LED:s lightning up the outer ring. The cover is however the same bulging fishbowl (which I personally like, but we all have different taste).
