No earlier than 2013, the new Porsche 911 Turbo will come on the market. The new Super-911 is currently being tested in the far north and pursued by our Erlkönig-hunters.

While the design of the 911 Turbo to the new series of 991-oriented, it is hearty from under the body.According to British media under the hood of the new Porsche 911 Turbo is a tri-turbo used.

Porsche 911 Turbo with three turbochargers

This has been shown for design patent application drawings, they say. Accordingly, the twin-turbo by a complex tri-turbo system on the 3.8-liter boxer replaced - in line with the recently presented BMW xDrive M55d triple turbo.

With this turbo configuration is not only the power output of the wheel drive vehicle be linear over the entire speed range, the consumption is compared to the current model will be significantly lower.

The 3.8-liter to a Porsche 911 Turbo 532 hp afford future and provide the Turbo S version whopping 557 hp.

Nice hips yes, but I don't like that kind of exhaust tips at all. Smiley

Hmmm ... this is maybe the first Carrera which looks better in standard width instead of 4/Turbo width.

These extra wide hips look like aftermarket yes

Whew!  Porsche is one hot, happening company.  I was a Weideking fan, and was worried that Porsche might decline after his fall.  But, while he certainly took the big risks and started model expansion,  Porsche management since then has moved far beyond.  The 991 series is going to be fabulously successful--if the world's economy holds.

I agree with you, the exhaust tips seem to look... upside-down for a strange reason... anyway, this wouldn't bother me too much since thse are often just temporary tips in the spyshots. And if they're not, they're exchanged for something nicer quite easily.

Development cycles are very long in this industry. I'm sure everything you see coming out this year was signed off by Wiedeking.

I'm sure optional tips will be offered, for a modicum of $$$.

Somehow the curvy rear fenders don't seem to match the now flatter front fenders. We'll have to wait for an uncamouflaged car to really judge...

I have yet to see these "lights" illuminated which gives me hope that they are just part of the camo.

Anybody notice the discontinuities in the slats on the rear deck lid of the turbo? What is it?
Scoops to get more ram air?

Looks like the centre slats are meant to catch cold air coming over the roof to duct it to the air filter, whereas slats either side of it vent warm air from the engine compartment towards the rear of the car.

So, it's another case of  "form follows function" in the Porsche principle.

I should say - good news, not sad!

Re: 991 spyshots thread (continued) (for UNRELEASED models only) Thread Closed

Good news would be that both PDK and manual would be offered so that buyers can choose which one the prefer, not dropping one in favor of the other.

I think this is BS rumors to fill pages anyway, Porsche has already stated that the 991GT3 will come with a manual only, at least initially so if we are going to see a PDK (which is likely since they are working on it since a long while now  in order to get the weight down)  it may have to wait till the facelift. And if so, both will likely be offered since (1) they already have the manual developed from the MK-I and (2) GT3 buyers are not the same as Turbo S buyers, 911 GTx  buyers are a different crowd and have the highest predilection for the manual gearbox than any other model Porsche produces. I they stop offering a manual on these cars in particular compared to any other, they will get an ear full about it.

100 % agree - but on the otherhand i am sure PDK will make the car faster - less rewarding when driven fast - but faster nonetheless which is good again for their marketing dept.....but I hope they will offer both

If Porsche are serious about offering only one gearbox per model, I could see them offering only manual on GT3 and only PDK-S on GT3 RS.  I'll be sorry if at least one of the cars does not get a proper 7 speed manual with close ratios (instead of the "efficiency" gearing of the new Carrera).

Re: 991 spyshots thread (continued) (for UNRELEASED models only) Thread Closed

Why offer one if they can offer both? Assuming that the priority will be PDK, the marginal development costs of also fitting manual will be very small.

Nevertheless, if Porsche stop offering manual, I don't think there is any other manufacturer friends of MT could turn to. Even with PDK only, no sales will be lost.
