When this was your last concept car, is there any surprise?
Saab's haven't been much of anything in the last 20 years. The have been on life support. I drove a 9-5, 9-3 and 9-3 convertible back in the mid-2000's.
Acceleration is pretty good w/the light pressure turbo. Steering feel was adequate.
Ride was a bit firm and it didn't do a very good job of soaking up bumps or providing feedback. The chassis just felt "hollow" if anyone can understand what I mean. Take a solid and bang it against something and then do the same with a hollow rod and you can get a sense for what I mean.
The chassis on was utter SHIT on the convertible! I hate to use such a strong word, but for a 2000's era car it was embarrassing. I could feel it flexing and twisting over bumps in the turns. Some turns I thought it was going to start scraping the door handles.
I've never driven a car where I felt I need to put on my motorcycle leathers put my knee pucks on so I could get a knee down.

I've always had a thing for SAABs... kind of a unicorn of shittyness in the automotive world.
Yet I think they deserve to live much more than Chrystler, GMC, Chevy....
Last I heard actually was positive news from SAAB filing for government aid internally.. It is not the end yet I suppose.
indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

I had a thing for SAABs too, as they have a certain "cool" about them, but for the last decade (or two?) they were not going anywhere anymore... I will always remember them with my hotmail address which I set up in a time where it was not done to put in your name (
) as it has "viggen" it, referring to one of their special series 9-3.
