I quite like it, they remained close to the DNA of the current era...
However, it does look a bit cluttered and messy.. like the designers were students.

I'm not keen I'm afraid. Jaguar seem to be incapable of designing a car with good surface tension. It looks like a mish mash of styles to me. I'm not a fan of Ian Callum's designs. His Aston DB7 hasn't dated well whereas Henrik Fiskers Astons have IMHO. Callum's XJ is like a bloated whale with a disastrous rear end.
Compare Callum's current Jag XK to the Pininfarina Maserati GranTurismo to see the startling difference good surface tension in the right areas makes.

Hmmm.
Doesn't seem to be unattractive but I agree with you, Iain, that it doesn't seem to be a design that will date very well. A bit like a Hyundai Tiburon with body cladding. But maybe the final product will be more distinctive.
I well remember the day I saw my first E-Type -- the first E-Type in town -- in a dealer window. I doubt I'll remember the first day I see this.
However, I do know that Ratan Tata was and is passionate about getting Jaguar back to its sporting heritage, that he's been disappointed with the new XK (launched before Tata bought them) and that he was insistant that car be the one to change the Jaguar paradigm.
So let's wait and see.

No individuality in this design. Very generic to have character.
Also the 2-seater configuration I think is wrong.
It will sell (outside the UK) if it undercuts in price the class leaders by a significant margin.
"Form follows function"
2 seater may be wrong, but to keep overall dimensions about the same as a 911, without the packaging advantages of a rear engine, means that the resulting size of the passenger compartment will not allow the +2 seating. Owning a 911 has made me much more aware of the huge space efficiency of this design....
