I saw it up close and can confirm that the rear seats are identical only with a bit more legroom.
Perfect emergency rear seats, not proper seats no.
I just wish the kids (7 and 10) would have a more comfortable seating position, I couldn't care less about more leg room. Maybe the developers should get their priorities straight, those buying a 911 usually also have kids according to the average buying age.
RC, I know you have a strong desire to keep the kids in the 911, but I wonder if they are already at an age where their fast growth rates, and need to have a better outside view of the world means that they are pretty soon past being "willing" passengers in a 2+2 coupe of any design. That is the reason, when my kids were the same age, I resigned to do all my family driving/touring in a relatively compact 4-door (BMW 328), which with some sports upgrades, was a satisfactory compromise between happy kids and happy driver. Of course that is also the path that led to me driving the "practical car" and my wife doing her daily driving in the sports car.... maybe not where you want to be!
Imposing your (relatively short term) family dimensions and needs on this 991 design seems somehow a bit selfish.... but I do understand your dream to have your family and your sports car all together. Question is - is it a reasonable dream??
