From the official release information, PDCC on the Carrera S is the new thing as regards dynamics.

    Lots of consumption&emission measures.

.... and why no  0 to 100km/h ( 62 mp/h ) time with the manual gearbox Smiley Would it be that these times are worst then the 997.2 PDK Carrera S ? Smiley  Smiley

I would think so, PDK should be faster in 0-100 times due to its efficiency, so I guess as well thats why  they use the PDK when they talk about acceleration times.

Re: Ladies and gentlemen, the new 991...

I thought I'd use the pictures posted to create another comparison, based on the dimension of the Autocar(?) article. But when I drew some check lines (yellow) from the bottom of the windscreen, the bottom of the headlight cluster, and the corner where the door meets the glasshouse, it seems that their comparitive sketch is only accurate wrt overall dimensions. So, take this picture with a grain of salt.

I didn't want to withhold it from you though.

With 5 shift planes , I wonder how many downshift overrevs are gonna happen to newbies who  drive enthusiastically ? OTOH , one shouldn't be in 5th or 6th gear driving in that fashion anyway, so time will tell.

Nicer  - but would really  "pop"   if the carpets were black, as most " sporty " competitors have now .

Re: Ladies and gentlemen, the new 991...

    Performance for the 7 speed manual 0 - 100 is : Carrera - 4.8 secs, Carrera S - 4.5 secs.

Nope, you've erroneously posted the interior of a smart family saloon, not a sports car. Please check your upload file again. Also, a manual 7 speed gear box is more sensible in a 50 ton truck with the driver having to double clutch - but not the PDK variety... Isn't this all getting a bit too busy/complicated..? I think the 7 speed manual gearbox with have people converting to PDK in droves...

Here is a good photo of the sunroof.

    Sunroof.JPG

In US Porsche forums there are always threads arguing about the sunroof , which has been mandatory in the US in recent years. I think it should be optional, but I like the sunroof as it has been offered up to the 997. The sunroof above is simply hideous and has no place in a sports car.

Thanks KresoF1! Good pic of the back seats, but whilst they indicate perhaps a more comfortable backrest, they look like the pop ups on an old Zafira. Again vert unsporty IMO, even if they might be more practical...

Though I have not driven it, it seems the new 991 is keeping with the 911 sportiness but is starting to become a 'GT' car sort of speak.

Re: Ladies and gentlemen, the new 991...

To put it succinctly: I'M IN LOVE.

Does anyone know if there's an English version of the 991 catalog out there? I'm sure lots of us would appreciate it!

Why have they put the iPod connection in the cubby hole? Far easier to get to in the centre console...

Surely intended to keep your iPod out of view.

I assume it can now be controlled through the head unit?  Smiley

Thanks a lot, Kreso. Very helpful

So far as I see, furthermore no iPhone integration to the PCM. Only with HFP but than only by using the iphone antenna.
This part is solved in a BMW years ago.

Re: Ladies and gentlemen, the new 991...

OK... How about some technical discussion?

I will bet that UK car press will like 991 base model more then 991S. Why? PDCC or PDCC with SPASM are NOT available for base 991. We all know from Panamera that PDCC is a great thing, just it is also offering little bit synthetic overall feel.

    My prediction:

For purists-base 991 PDK with 20", SPASM, PTV Plus and Sport Chrono Plus(a must!!).

For ultimate 991S PDK with PDCC/SPASM, Sport Chrono Plus and PCCBs.

BTW, new fully variable electronically controlled rear diff(a la e-diff on 458) PTV Plus is ONLY available for PDK models. For manual models old LSD(PTV) is available.

New Steeringwheel Plus is also interesting thing-something like servotronic.
