Is the exhaust sound different in the Turbo S than the Turbo 997.2? If not, isn't this something you would like to see improved?
it gurgles fine in sport mode, and i like the clicky swoosh when you drill it, i like a quiet car under sudden acceleration in case a cop is listening, and noise is anethema to me in general.
some scenery as it comes across from iphone. you can see this was first day with phone as i have my finger on the lens.
this following post is clayton peak ut,
the first pic shows the dirt road up from midway -- is the worst place i have had a porsche in a while -- brutal wash board.
i will add some other nifty hikes

Sitting in an office on a gloomy summer's day here in London, looking at these photos feels like looking through a window on another world. Thanks for reminding me of the beauty that is out there
997.1 C2S GT Silver/Cocoa, -20mm/LSD, PSE, short shifter, SportDesign rims, Zuffenhausen pickup, BMW Z4 2.5i Roadster Sterling Grey/Red
one more worthy view. these are all from teton pass trail looking at the Hole [Jackson] and the surrounding mtns. the creek crossing is Mail Cabin trail nearby, where we passed a moose. elk and moose are everywhere. and finally mu objective driven hiker navigator pissing in your general direction to paraphrase Monty Python.
Great pics. Really interesting how strongly you feel about the Turbo S Cab.
Don't have an S but a Turbo Cab w/ PCCB's & EVOMS, driven an S for 2 days so understand where you're coming from. Point and shoot... Torque/power is so different than on the Stradale, 430, etc... Like being shot out of Gods slingshot.... It completely decimates long stretches of asphalt like some sort of time machine----- waaawhhoooossshhhhhhh & you're gone..... The Cabriolet adds another whole dimension of enjoyment from a car, doesn't it? The Turbo/S Cab is like a Swiss Army knife, it has it all with better comfort, useability than the others...The more you drive it, the smaller, more agile it becomes...Like it shrinks around you and almost starts to predict inputs,,,it's just damn good..
Love your dog. What a good looking animal... Again terrific photos...

Don its platinum. not trouble free. l
last friday Jack and Trevor at BH Porsche came thru yet again by replacing the roof latch mechanism which failed after quitting time at my office in century city. Trevor said drive right into Jacks bay, and he stayed late and fixed it. BH porsche is truly the best for those in LA!!!!!!! what a service dept!!! I told Rick Perkins now a SR VP at Porsche about it, 20 years ago he was my regional tech, laughing at me putting firewood in my 930 and all the dog hair. nothings changed. for 22 years Trevor has been bailing me out as has Jack on the wrenches [now computer]
i would note there were two incidences on the trip when the roof would not open, i moved the shotgun and it did, so son=me how i figured it was in the way on the back shelf, but now i think it was incipient failure of the mechanism
after 8 or 9 strads, let me comment on how useful a turbo S is
a strad has NO mechanical grip relatively speaking, I can spin the rear loose in the malibu mtns w/o even trying, and lets talk RAIN. no shredding into tight spots in traffic in central OR in a strad and totally benign in a tubro S [i am intermediate driver}
I was stuck in traffic next to a 360 spider today on PCH, thinking youre lucky its not hot or your transmission would be over heating. i used to sit in LA traffic listening to my trans overheating in one strad after another
not to say i dont love them dearly.
but imagine taking a strad on a 2400 mile shred your headache would never leave, youd f.g softpedal the entire trip
but for chingadero la bamba holy mother f.g yee haw nothing beats a strad. i drove one daily for 3 years.... soccer , work, but no long runs and NO DIRT roads, although i did the mud in malibu nurmerous times, jesus imagine the damage if i'd done the at pine valley road up to guardsmans pass in UT i showed in a pic in a strad... well likely only undertray, but no confidence, and no dealer in SLC:)
the cab does make it a multi tool but more elegant than a swiss army knife, and whats faster right now? what put power down in the rain better??? face it even for a strad lover, there is NO substitute to turbo S
STRADALE:

One of the best things I did for my Turbo Cab, easy to do yourself (if you haven't already):
I know you have PDK but the one touch to the top/cabriolet button operation is almost a must have w/ a stick shift.
Did Porsche fix the issue w/ the key opening the trunk yet? If not the above also helps w/ this. I like the ability to open the top from inside my office w/ the key fob letting out the hottest air out of the cabin.. There's a bunch of other worth while features like horn chirp when setting the alarm ...
THREE Doggies?? The more the merrier!! They look like they're having fun!
