    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

I think he sold the 997.1 GT3 a while ago. Considering his tight relationship with Porsche, he should´ve offered the car at a good price. Nonetheless, I would´ve done the same...

Apparently EVO's Chris Harris bought a 4.0, he just posted a picture of it on Twitter. Can't wait to read his impressions!

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

This does not come as a real surprise to me as , for example, most of the GT3s in German Porsche clubsport ride the cast irons and they are more or less recommended due to the considerably higher maintaince costs of the PCCBs...and, neither the Carrera Cup Car he rode last season in Germany nor the RS he / they drove in the 24h Nordschleife race had PCCBs.

    Just my 2cts.

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

Not to mention they are quite a bit cheaper. What a car! Mine should arrive in 5 weeks.

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

Another new car for Mike? Why are we NOT surprised? haha

What else is coming down the pipeline Mike?

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

LOL! Thanks Whoopsy. Just another Cayenne that will arrive end of the year.

There is one potential other in the pipeline, but that is subject to a few things. If it happens I'll post some pics.

Great looking RS, but not likely a real RS 4.0.  More likely front dive planes added to an RS 3.8.

Although, looking at the number plate's starting letter sequence, it could be almost anything, maybe even a factory weird special.

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

The CF front fenders are only available to the 4.0 and GT2RS right?

This car has it, as you can see the arch extensions are part of the fender.

Although I have seen somebody put these fenders on a Turbo, so anything is possible.

They were optional on the 3.8RS too.

Are you sure? I've never seen a 3.8RS with them fitted?

Also the size of the end plates on the rear spoiler suggest it's a 4.0...

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

That is a 4.0 and the first pictures of a paint to sample example I believe. The original post on Teamspeed confirms this. There is no way I would keep the decals on this car when it looks this good without them.

They sure do, and it apparently is.

Seem to remember having seen a 3.8 with the carbon fenders on my search / quest for a car... (might have been dreaming of a GT2 RS)

I couldn't agree more.  I think it looks a lot better without them.

This silver one is very nice... if only the wheels where grey it would be perfect :)

Frequent "mod" for those tracking their toy. Even the owners for whom money is no object avoid the PCCB because they feel like bending over when they have to replace the discs Smiley

BTW yesterday morning the german carmag "Autozeitung" conducted a time attack on the 'Ring (4.0 RS vs. AUDI R8 GT Smiley) both cars driven by Sascha Bert. I don't have the laptimes yet - probably no record because the track was not in perfect condition (lot of dirt at the important Bergwerk corner due to a hefty crash in Saturday's VLN race), but I like the Autozeitung approach - two cars, same driver, same day, same track Smiley Apart from two S-GO XX numberplate press cars I was astonished to spot already 4 privately owned 4.0 RS on the Nordschleife this weekend - some of these babys obviously enjoy the right treatment right from the beginning Smiley

    What a sound!

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

just sat in one yesterday - well not much of a difference to the 3.8 - although I like the steering wheel a bit better (thicker) and as discussed before here the front fender is "one piece" whereas in the 3.8 it's a "lip". Also the "boot" is made of carbon-fiber very nicely. The white rims are a pain to clean - saw already breakdust on it (no PCCB) Didn't like the full-sport seats - the foldable of my 3.8 are way more confi also wider - and the seats come only in leather whereas my Seat has the soft cloth. The stripes and the front looks very very nice in real life!  Fantastic car but not so much of a difference to the 3.8 -but then I haven't driven it

Congrats to Mike - definetely something to look forward too. The sound......well mine has now 7000 km and in Sport Mode with the exhaust open it's just mindblowing

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

50PS more ... surely, there must be a material difference in performance ...
