GT:
if this test is between customer stock cars then what can we deduct for the 458 in the recent EVO drag race???
Exactly my thoughts.
Most possible answer: EVO car was equipped with modis code SPTT from Maranello.
SPTT = Special Power Treatment Testcars
The secret of life is to admire without desiring.
Both cars were stock, at least this is what the video tells me. There aren't many cars to beat the Turbo S from standstill and after the Turbo S takes off from standstill, both cars stay aprox. at the same distance, hence the performance is very close to each other. For stop light/drag racers, the Turbo S is definitely the better choice.

ferrari supplied 458 press cars are probably around +60/80hp with around -60 to 80kgs from stock in my opinion. I always suspected that after those recents tests but I am now 90% sure after this.
In the EVO test the 458 was catching up the turbo S in a way that only additional HP (substantial additional HP) can explain. These are auto cars with launch controls so all other driver variables are excluded.
Pathetic...

For what it's worth, it sounds like the F got a horrible launch. Lots of wheel spin. If you noticed throughout the race, the Porsche didn't walk on the Ferrari either. As boost spools up, you would expect a turbo car to walk away from a NA car but that wasn't the case. The lead distance never changed.

Is the S stock or is it your car?
No, his Turbo is even faster than this SThis event is in Russian, there´s lots of videos on youtube about it.

I recall being literally knocked out by the Gallardo Superleggera "press car" that I tested last year. It was INSANELY fast, and I suspect about 50-60HP more than any car you could buy from the factory. The dash to 100km/hr felt more like 3.0 or 3.1 as opposed to 3.4, as claimed!
article here in case you missed it when I posted the link up last year:

Current steeds in the stable and recently sold include: Porsche 996/911 (2004) '40 Jahre' Anniversary - 363bhp, Porsche-VW 914 (1973) 1.7 - 78bhp, Volkswagen Tiguan (2008) 2.0TFSi - 200bhp, Volkswagen Touareg (2009) V6 - 280bhp, Volkswagen Golf Mk3 (1993) VR6 - 189bhp

We all know Ferrari controls magazine tests tightly but IMO there is no way they can extract an additional 60-80hp from a naturally aspirated engine without the test driver knowing. You see, more hp would require additional RPM (in a NA engine), racing exhaust etc. By the way, the 458 has 40 additional hp vs this turbo S. Don't believe every private video you see.
While I know most forum readers here ONLY follow/believe SA test results (yes - they are very believable) but here are some other tests results:
CAR and Driver 1/4 Mile 0-150mph
458 11.0/131mph 15.0s
GT2 RS 11.1/133mph 14.4s
MP4-12C 10.7/134mph 13.9s
CAR Magazine Top Speed Lap Time
458 202mph 1:28.30
GT2 RS 205mph 1:28.77
MP4-12C 205mph 1:29.24 (second attempt)
EVO Magazine 0-600 Meters Lap Time
458 15.72s/148mph 1:19.38s
MP4-12C 14.92s/148mph 1:20.69s
Turbo S 15.81s/141mph 1:23.41s
All of these cars provide extremely high performance (which most of us can't extract!!!). IMO, unless you are street racing, buy which one makes you feel better. And if you intend on tracking it frequently, then get a GT3.
Cheers.
