4th birthday
With my fellow RTers indulgence and because I am sick of looking at boring spy shots of the 991, I want to celebrate my 997 C4S 4th birthday.
I had a beautiful sunny afternoon to take some photos after a birthday wash and polish. I have had 28000 km of completely trouble free driving joy. I use it for some daily drives, some weekend fun, some spirited early morning secret roads and some track sessions.
The best bits - sports exhaust which I aways have on, and sports mode - I just love the extraordinary throttle response - no lag !!!. Driving in third gear at 3000 rpm and nailing the throttle, even better in a tunnel I often have to go through.
People sometimes ask me why a C4S when we have no snow and little rain. I really like the wider hips, the view of them from the mirrors and from behind. I also like the planted feel with 4wd less nervous than I found the C2S. Perhaps better for my limited skills...
I see the beautiful other cars you guys own and often feel some envy. I have test driven many of them and they are great. But I still just love how my car feels like an extension of me and responds to every little input.
And my wife approves even though I drive her mad looking for "safe" parking spots but she feels that the car is cheaper than a mistress. That is true - my annual maintenance costs have been minimal. So there you - a proud owner and his four year old child
