    Advice on best after market exhaust for R8 V8

    Hi Guys,

    I'm about to purchase an R8 in a few days time but I have some concern about the exhaust note, it's a bit too quiet compared to other sports cars. Can anyone advise on the best aftermarket sports exhaust I can replace it with, not too shouty though....thanks

    I was impressed with the products designed by Stasis Engineering; often sold in cooperation with dealers and warrantied.  Their exhaust kits seemed to have a balance of raw and refinement.... from what I heard of a few cars.  If I had kept my S5 I might have gone this route.

    I was impressed with the products designed by Stasis Engineering; often sold in cooperation with dealers and warrantied.  Their exhaust kits seemed to have a balance of raw and refinement.... from what I heard of a few cars.  If I had kept my S5 I might have gone this route.

    Hi Italo,

    I have a Stasis in my V8 R8 and found it a little too loud.  If it could be 1/3 quieter it would be perfect.  If i had to do it again I would go for a valved system where you could control whether the bypass valves open or not.  Stasis does not have that.  Go to R8talk.com forum, under performance enhancement and check it out.  I heard a Tubi exhaust with valves (screen name fifty pence's car and thought it sounded good).  High pitched, italian, and just right volume  good luck.  R8 is a great car to drive and CORNER.
